Chief Executive Officer of the Shatta Movement, Charles Nii Armah, popularly known as Shatta Wale has revealed that he has bought a house for one of his ‘baby mamas’ in London.

He made this disclosure during an interview on an Accra based radio station where he was asked about his relationship with his ‘baby mamas’ and children. He posited that he is in a good relationship with both mothers and children, even though he doesn’t reside with any of them. He further revealed that he always tries his possible best to take care of them.

“The way my children speak to me makes me fall in love more, it makes me want to work hard. I have this connection with them, even though I don’t stay with any of them. I have three kids, one in London, two in Ghana. I relate with them nicely and they don’t really give me any ‘daddy hardship life’. Everything they want I get it for them and their mothers are cool. I am taking good care of their mothers too, you know I have tried to sort everybody out. As I sit here I have bought a house for one of them [referring to baby mama] and this should tell you it’s not a joke”.

Quizzed as to whether Mark Okraku Mantey is the best person to deputize Awal Mohammed, the dancehall artiste opined that the President of the Creative Arts Council, Mark Okraku Mantey, can’t serve in the capacity of a Deputy Minister of the Creative Arts Industry or any other related position. In his opinion, the whole ministry should be dissolved because it doesn’t function or benefit the creative players in any way.

He further lamented that he can’t pinpoint any impact he has received from Mark and as such he believes he doesn’t deserve the position.

“If our leaders are listening to me, I think it [Ministry of Creative Arts, Tourism and Culture] is something that they need to dissolve. We are in the technological world now. Someone like Mark Okraku Mantey can’t be there. Our leaders need to know. I am not saying it because I want to spoil his job. His job was a producer, who became a Programs Director at wherever he is.

“Up till now, I have not seen certain things in the industry that has pushed me. We are talking about creative arts here, but ask yourself, how many artists have gotten their royalties in the industry? In this music industry that we are in, Amakye Dede is still complaining”.

The ‘My level’ hitmaker noted that if he was to be given the position as the Minister of the Creative Arts Industry, there would have been chaos, since he would have paused everything pertaining to arts for a month, because, he would restructure the system.

He later encouraged that leaders must let the structure work to benefit all artists in Ghana.
