Patience Nyarko has disclosed that Shatta Wale is her favorite secular artist in Ghana. This follows she being asked in an interview

Ghanaian gospel singer, Patience Nyarko.

Popular Ghanaian gospel singer, Patience Nyarko has disclosed that Shatta Wale is her favorite secular artist in Ghana.

This follows she being asked in an interview who her favorite secular artist is, and if she will feature any secular artist in a gospel song. The ‘Eboboba’ crooner noted that she doesn’t have any intentions of featuring a secular artist yet. However, if she receives “divine instructions” to do it then she will.

“My favorite secular artiste is Shatta Wale. Everyone knows I am an SM fan. I don’t have plans of working with a secular artiste right now. I also don’t see any problem with gospel artist featuring secular artist”.

Touching on the controversial issue of unity in the gospel music industry she said: “There is no unity in the gospel music industry but it’s normal. Even in our homes, we have our differences”.

It can be recalled that Patience Nyarko in another interview said she doesn’t agree with OB Nartey’s position that Joe Mettle is number one and the best gospel artist because Joe Mettle has a lot of views on Youtube. It was later alleged that Patience Nyarko was ‘beefing’ Joe Mettle.

Patience Nyarko clears alleged ‘beef’ with Joe Mettle

Speaking at the back of this, Patience clarified that she has no issues or ‘beef’ with Joe Mettle, however, she was only addressing issues. According to her she doesn’t have any regrets whatsoever over what she said and if given the opportunity, she will iterate it.

“I do not have any issue with Joe Mettle. It’s not like we fought or anything for us to be having an issue. He is my colleague in the Ministry. I didn’t feel bad when people said I spoke ill of the gospel industry when I addressed certain issues. I didn’t regret anything I said. Some people applauded me for being outspoken. I will say this everywhere I go that the fact that you speak English fluently doesn’t mean you are better than anyone. If I get an opportunity, I will repeat it again”.

When asked if she is bitter because she has not yet received any awards from the VGMA and 3Music awards show she said: “No, I’m not bitter at all. I’m not singing because of awards. I do it mainly for the soul winning. It’s good if you are rewarded too but that’s not the focus.”

Paitience speaks on #FixTheCountry protest

Adding her voice to the #FixTheCountry protest, the artist mentioned that there is indeed a lot o be fixed in the country. Listing a few things that she thinks should be fixed, the gospel artist noted that the leaders need to put in place some measures to ensure that the country is made better.

“I think there is a lot to be fixed in Ghana. When we take a look at the power outages, and there is filth in Ghana. I will plead with the leaders to organize something like an annual award;scheme, so they award very clean cities I think that will boost others to keep their cities clean. Also, when we take a critical look at our water bodies that are being destroyed;due to ‘galamsey’, and the people say fix the country then I think it should be fixed.
