“It’s very unfortunate that this had to happen.  I invited five artists to feature on my yet-to-be-released album, ‘Faa Me;Saa’ and it was only Efya that showed up”.

He disclosed that he personally spoke to the artists in question and;they directed him to their respective managers, which according to him, was very uncalled for. Kwabena Kwabena also revealed that most of these artists he called;on are the young stars who are currently making strides in the music scene. He also expressed his displeasure in how none of them showed him the necessary respect to respond to his calls.

“I’m not bothered about the fact that these artists refused to show up after my numerous reach-outs to them. But, it is rather unfortunate that they had to disrespect me when I had shown so much respect to their respective brands”.

He further stated that “I did not want to collaborate with these artists because they will make my album a hit but I felt that they were the right fit to collaborate with on the album”.

Meanwhile, Kwabena Kwabena in recent times has changed his fashion lifestyle. Speaking about the inspiration behind his new style of dressing, the artist said “it’s liberation and me finding myself and how I present myself. There is even a song on my album about it because I can’t lose myself for anything”.

Aside from his new fashion sense, Kwabena Kwabena has been known for his prolific writing skills. Touching on how he became a very creative writer, he attributed it as a family trait. He mentioned that music has always been something that has been in his family. Therefore, it is something that comes to him naturally.

“…music has been in my family for a long time. My grandfather was into music. He used to play the guitar and he was called Adu Guitar”.

Kwabena advises artists to have loyal management

There have been several cases of musicians and their management breaking off due to issues concerning royalties. When asked how Kwabena Kwabena keeps his management and appoints them, he mentioned that every artist should first look out for loyal people to use as management, so that, when they are down, they are assured of people who will lift them.

“The greatest thing an artist could ever have is management that actually cares and feels for his artist. And at the moment that they are down they are able to lift them up and not run away when times are tough.

“Because you know when times are tough is when you see the real attitude of some people. I’ll say the least an artist needs to do is to get a loyal management who will be truthful to him or her”.

He further stated that he wishes people who hold certain opinions about him and criticize him will do so without insulting him. According to him, such an act is very abusive and absolutely uncalled for.”
