Black stars Rex omar y Stonebwoy has finally reacted after the ban placed on him and Shatta Wale by the board of the Vodafone Ghana Music Award (VGMA) was lifted.

Stonebwoy, CEO of the Bhim Nation.

Stonebwoy has thrown his weight behind the #FixTheCountry campaign as he has released a song in support of the online protest.

The release of the song has currently made Stonebwoy a trending topic on Twitter. The song which is titled ‘Outside,’ sees Stonebwoy making a clarion call for citizens to stay resolute in their bid for a country that is “worthy of calling home”.

Taking to his Twitter, he posted an ad cover of the song and wrote: “[I] had a few important issues I needed to address”.

Well, feedback from the public so far has been very positive. Some disclosed that they were so touched by the song they couldn’t hold themselves from crying. They also urged that it is about time they hit the street to vent out their frustrations.

That notwithstanding, some showered praises on Stonebwoy, noting that his song is the “voice of the voiceless”. They explained that he has put to bear all the things they wish to say but can’t for fear of being killed like the Ejura social activist, Kaaka. Some reactions to Stoneboy’s post read:

DEEP LYRICS💙🧡💜 SO TOUCHING, CAN'T EVEN STOP CRYING 😭😭😭😭WE NUH GO EAT 😡😡😡😡 WE OUTSIDE.. LET'S HIT ROADS 1GAD 😭😭😭😭

Meanwhile, prior to the new single today, the outspoken musician had vented on social media over the killing of two residents of Ejura by security personnel while protesting the murder of the social activist, Kaaka who had been murdered a few days earlier.

The killings have been received with widespread condemnation with many calling for the perpetrators to be brought to book.

Stonebwoy argued that Kaaka did not have to die in that manner. According to Stonebwoy, the #FixTheCountry campaigner was only propagating the frustrations and challenges the ordinary Ghanaian was encountering on daily basis.

Stonebwoy stated that: “Kaaka didn’t have to die. He was only advocating for the improvement of the lives of his fellow citizens including the very people that killed him. He was killed because he refused to be a spectator. His brethren in Ejura didn’t have to be attacked”.

The musician was outraged at how security personnel responsible for protecting the lives of civilians have rather turned around to kill them.

For him, the military men who shot to killed the two protestors should not be shielded but have to be held responsible for their actions.

He further stated, “Since the system Keeps frustrating us the citizens. We will have no option than to go outside. We Only Go Outside to air our voices seeking attention to the problems we face as citizens, anything contrary to that is not our intent”.

They were only venting their frustration. Yet the men and women who have sworn an oath to protect us and serve us with integrity attacked them.
We need justice for Kaaka. We need to hold the police and military responsible for the loss of lives in Ejura. #Outside #NaGoIn

Well, Stonebwoy won’t be the first artist to record a song in support of the campaign, as it can be recalled that just last month, Ghanaian rapper, Strongman Burner released a song for the same cause.

In his song, ‘Fix It’, Strongman urged leaders to fulfill their promises to Ghanaians and work on providing results to ease the hardship on Ghanaians. He also pointed out issues including unemployment, bad roads, increase in road accidents, among others.

Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo has directed Interior Minister Ambrose Dery, to conduct a public inquiry into the circumstances that led to the death of the two.

The President further gave the Minister 10 days to provide a detailed report on the inquiry.
