Popular South African rapper, and record producer, Cassper Nyovest, after being moved by the story of a young woman from Swaziland in need of a lung transplant, has decided to lend a helping hand and as such donated 11,000 dollars to the cause.
Nompilo Dlamini, a twenty-six-year-old, who is also reported to be a die-hard fan of the rapper, has been documenting her journey of living with cystic fibrosis on social media. Recently, she shared that she was in the last stage of her condition and in desperate need of 2 million South African rands (150,000 dollars) to afford the transplant that will save her life.
When Cassper Nyovest took note of her story, he decided to chip in a whopping 150,000 South African rand (11,000 dollars) donation to her ‘gofundme’ page. On his Instagram, the rapper posted the proof of payment to show his followers that he was leading by example.
“Just Donated R150 000 to #SaveNompilo. Please donate what you can to help. Nothing is too little. Even R10 will help. It’s a Swazi account so you have to go through global payments if you’re in SA. The goal is 2 million rands”.
Fans and colleagues in the industry have reacted to Cassper’s act of generosity. They showered praises and thanked him for showing much kindness to the lady.
Well, it can be recalled that in a video posted a few days ago, Cassper urged his followers to contribute towards the cause and raise awareness about cystic fibrosis.
“Her story touched me because she was very positive even though she is going through so much… I believe together with you, we can save her life; it doesn’t matter how much you can donate”
Currently, Nompilo’s gofundme page alone stands at about 91,441 South African rands (6,412 dollars) and counting. However, monies sent to her personal bank account are not yet known. Meanwhile, many social media users and celebrities have been sharing Cassper Nyovest’s posts with the hope that more people will be inspired to donate.

Nompilo’s illness is said to be a genetic disorder that targets the lungs, digestive system, and other organs in the body. She had been denied medical assistance in South Africa as doctors told her she is not a citizen of the country.
She had lost all hope and said her phycologist have been preparing her for the afterlife. But a light at the end of the tunnel availed itself and Nompilo will be getting assistance from doctors in India. But again, another issue emerged; the cost of the surgery. It left her with no other option than to call on the public to help her raise the funds for her medical care.
Until Cassper Nyovest’s timely intervention, Nompolo’s ‘GoFundMe’ had been growing at a very slow rate.
In a tweet where Nompilo thanked Cassper for saving her life, Cassper responded by applauding her fighting spirit, “Your story touched me. You are such a positive soul. I will be rallying some of my friends and fans to help you get to India and hopefully, we can get you a new set of Lungs, so you can live a long lengthy life & inspire more people like you have inspired me. Stay strong”.
