The Telecommunication network indicated that the promotion will be a point-based one, for which customers will be required to obtain specific points target to obtain in each month.

According to MTN Ghana, the 25th anniversary Mega Promo is structured to award all eligible prepaid and postpaid users with respect to their usage of products and services across all MTN platforms.

As specified by MTN, the first step a customer must take to participate in the promo is to dial *156# and select option 5 to subscribe. They further stated that, the promo points are gathered based on usage and spend.

MTN also explained that, a pesewa expended on voice or SMS will earn the customer one point and a pesewa spent on data will attract 3 points.

“A pesewa spent on MTN digital platforms (eg. My MTN, Ayoba, Pulse & Momo Apps) will attract 10 points. A pesewa spent on all other activities by way of subscription will attract 3 points.”

Customers who are able to surpass the target-point by greater percentage margin after ranking will be rewarded.

Touching on the promo, the Chief Marketing Executive of MTN Ghana, Noel Kojo Ganson, expressed that beyond their core duty as telecommunication network, they have great commitments to provide customers with life-changing opportunities through rewards of the promo.

The promo, according to the marketing executive, is designed to enable at least a customer from each of the 16 regions to drive home a brand-new Hyundai Sonata in order to avoid unfair distribution. The remaining 9 cars will be distributed on participant percentage margin basis, without regards to region.

Mr Kojo Ganson urged customers to patronize more of MTN products and services since they do not want all winners to come from just few regions.

As part of their commitments to ensure transparency, MTN has consulted KPMG to provide external auditing to authenticate the winner-selection process for the promotion.

Customers who are able to meet the requirements of the MTN @25 Promotion to become winners, will be declared at the end of each month.

Moreover, given the surge in fraudulent activities, MTN has warned its customers to be cautious of such acts, stating clearly that they will only call customers through a specific number.

According to MTN, winners in promotions will neither be informed via links nor promo codes.

The dominant telecom network also mentioned that they will not request for any money or airtime before customers can redeem their rewards.

MTN therefore, advised its customers to make use of their Toll-Free number 100 or engage with customer service personnel on its social media platforms especially Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp.
