We Are Proud Of You And We Will Not Take You For Granted – IGP Lauds Police Service

Inspector-General of Police - Dr. George Akuffo Dampare

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has lauded his subordinates in the Service for their dedication towards maintaining law and order in the country throughout the year.

According to the IGP, the Personnel within the Service have contributed significantly towards the peace and order the country has enjoyed throughout this year and should not be taken for granted.

“I commend you all, for your courage, patriotic selflessness and unalloyed dedication towards the maintenance of law and order. We are proud of you and we will not take you for granted. We recognize that your efforts contribute greatly to the peace and security of this country… On behalf of the leadership of the Service, I wish all Officers a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year”.

Dr. George Akuffo Dampare

The IGP said in his Christmas message to the Service that the achievements chalked this year are due to the mercy and grace from God Almighty and for that reason “we give glory to God Almighty for our lives and that of our families”.

Dr George Akuffo Dampare also used the opportunity to eulogize those who lost their lives while on duty and gave the assurance that his administration will do what is required to support their surviving families. He urged the Police Service and the general public to “let us continue to keep them in our prayers”.

The IGP is optimistic that officers who are engaged in acts of misconduct and unprofessionalism, resulting in a bad name for the Service will desist from these practices in the new year and beyond, “for us to regain the trust, confidence, and respect of the public”.

To bolster such transformation, the IGP assured that his leadership will make time to listen to concerns and ideas on how to transform the Service into a world-class institution and the most respected organization in Ghana.

“I take this opportunity to encourage all of us to keep safe, celebrate in moderation, and take comfort in the blessing and protection of our Lord even in the midst of Covid-19. Let us all abide by the protocols of Covid-19 and protect ourselves and our loved ones”.
