Pep Guardiola, Manager Of Man City club

Manchester City’s Manager, Pep Guardiola, has signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the football club until 2025. He had been silent when asked in the lead-up to the tournament whether he could discuss a fresh deal then.

Guardiola’s current contract was due to expire in June 2023 but the club has taken the opportunity of the break for the World Cup to end any doubts over his stay in England. Pep joined Manchester City in 2016 after his three years stay at Bayern Munich, where he won the Bundesliga on three occasions.

The extension will take his time with the reigning Premier League champion to nine years, which far exceeds his previous coaching jobs. Pep Guardiola spent four seasons at Barcelona and three with Bayern Munich.

Mr Guardiola’s serial winning has continued during his six years stay in England too as City has won the Premier League four times as well as one FA Cup, four Carabao Cups and two Community Shields. He will receive a raise in his reported £20m-a-year salary.

”I can’t say thank you enough to everyone at the club for trusting me. I am happy and comfortable here, as I have everything I need to do my job as best as possible.

”From day one I felt something special being here. I cannot be in a bettter place. I still have the feeeling that there is more we can achieve together and that is why I want to stay and keep fighting for trophies. I know the next chapter of this club will be amazing for the next decade. It happened over the last ten years, and it will happen in the next ten years because this club is so stable.”

Pep Guardiola

Guardiola spoke of his delight at remaining City manager until the summer of 2025.

More Expected From Pep As He Stays At City

Khaldoon Al Mubarak, City’s chairman, has disclosed that he is delighted that Pep’s journey with Manchester City Football Club will continue.

According to him, the manager has already contributed so much to the success and fabric of the club, and it’s exciting to think what might be possible given the energy, hunger and ambition that he clearly still has.

“Under his very special leadership our first team has accomplished so much, whilst continuously playing, and constantly evolving, a City style of football that is admired the world over. Like every City fan, I am looking forward to what lies ahead.”

Pep is Barca’s most successful manager with 14 trophies in four years, including three La Liga titles and two Champions Leagues. He then won three Bundesliga titles in a row at Bayern.
