A Nigerian comedian, Warri, has taken on royals across Africa’s most populous nation mocking their loud absence at the May 6 coronation ceremony of King Charles III at Westminister Abbey.
Known in Nigeria’s comedy circles as ‘Pararan’, the operator of Pararan Mock News said it was telling that Otumfuo, who he described as King of Ghana, had been invited when no Nigerian king made it to the ceremony.
He charged in pidgin English:
“Where are the Nigerian kings who won’t allow us to breathe, throwing their weight around and disturbing public peace without being useful to their people?
“All they know is to claim to have royal blood while taking advantage of the people at every turn; marrying multiple wives yet refusing to play the role of development agents”.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II was among four African royalties that were invited to the coronation. The others are the Kings of Eswatini, Lesotho, and Morocco.
All three attended in their personal capacities except the King of Morocco who was represented by his sister.
Nigeria’s traditional system is one of the most elaborate in West Africa yet no royal was invited to the coronation of Charles III.
The British monarch, however, is known to have longstanding links with the Kano Emirate in northern Nigeria as well as the Sokoto Caliphate as well as some Kingdoms in the country’s southern regions.
What Prince Harry Did After His Dad King Charles III’s Coronation
Soon after his dad King Charles III and stepmother Queen Camilla were crowned at Westminster Abbey in a historic ceremony, Prince Harry exited the venue, hopped in a car, and headed to Heathrow Airport, BBC News and multiple other outlets reported.
He came, he saw, and then…he left.
He had flown into London one day earlier, according to multiple reports. His wife Meghan Markle and their kids Prince Archie, who is celebrating his fourth birthday on the day of the coronation, and Princess Lilibet, 23 months, remained in California, where they live. The event took place amid a rift between the Duke of Sussex and his father, stepmother, and brother, Prince William, all of whom he had criticized in his memoir Spare.
Harry, who stepped back from royal duties along with Meghan in 2020, sat in the third row at the coronation—two rows behind William—and played no official part in it. More than an hour after the ceremony finished and the Duke of Sussex left, several members of the royal family appeared with Charles and Camilla on the Buckingham Palace balcony, including William and his wife Kate Middleton, and their kids Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.
At the coronation ceremony, Harry was not photographed with any immediate family members. He was spotted chatting with cousins Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie and their husbands, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Jack Brooksbank.
Meanwhile, the coronation festivities were set to continue May 7 with a televised concert at Windsor Castle, featuring American Idol judges Katy Perry and Lionel Richie and British pop group Take That.
For the coronation concert, Charlotte wore an ivory chiffon Self Portrait dress with a scalloped collar. George wore a dark suit, as did his dad, while Kate sported a red Alexander McQueen pantsuit. The Wales family stood beside Charles and Camilla, who cheered and waved at the crowd.
Hours before the concert, Kate and William surprised fans with a walkabout at Windsor. Kate wore a pastel blue blazer over a white top and black pants, paired with white sneakers, while her husband sported a navy suit with no tie. The couple visited a street fair, where they took selfies with members of the public and sampled homemade gin.
