Black Sherif has always featured his roots in his success story.

The young rapper from Konongo in the Ashanti region made a historic trip to his hometown to celebrate his title ‘Artiste of the Year’ on May 13, 2023.

The trip back home witnessed a massive welcome from the entire township, who came out on the streets to receive their superstar, the man who has been making waves in Ghana and the rest of the world through music.

The kingly treatment was showcased by bloggers and the rapper on social media. In an Instagram live video, Black Sherif showed the world love his people have for him.

Both young and old were captured cheering Blacko on as they sang along with his popular tunes.

Before the victory, Black Sherif had pledged to celebrate with friends, family, and fans if he emerged as the overall ‘Artiste of the Year’ at the 24th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

The rapper’s 2022 album, ‘The Villain I Never Was’ had a special dedication to his roots in a song titled ‘Konongo Zongo’.

Young Ghanaian rapper Black Sherif was presented with two brand new luxury cars by his team, A-List Management, as a congratulatory present following his big win.

On May 6, Black Sherif was crowned the Artiste of the Year at the 24th edition of the Ghana Music Awards after beating 7 nominees- Piesie Esther, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Camidoh, Joe Mettle, KiDi and King Promise.

The presentation of the Suzuki Jimny Brabus G800 and Miniature Mercedes-AMG G63 was made by real estate mogul and owner of A-List Management, Joseph Aidoo Jr. on Friday, May 12.

Black Sherif’s latest gift topped social media trends, with fans and well-wishers congratulating him. Others wrote that the hardworking rapper truly deserves the finest things in life, considering his dedication to his work.

Following the rapper’s big win at the 24th VGMA, he acknowledged the support from his fanbase, family and friends in an interview.

He said:

“I love you guys so much, I am here because of their support. If I play the music and no one listens, where will I get the streams? Go check my streams, it is over billions. Humans, homo sapiens, listen to my music. I love you guys so much, keep riding for me”.

The reigning Artiste of the Year Black Sherif aka Blacko got his fans and netizens talking about his style of dressing after storming Despite Media for an interview in a crop top with a carmo short.

Blacko love for crop tops has been something which a lot of fans have complained about since it is believed that such shirts are meant for people of the opposite sex.

Aside from that his sense of fashion has been questioned with some people suggesting that he employs the services of a stylist who will style him when he is stepping out.
