Zendaya Pays Emotional Tribute To Euphoria Co-Star

Zendaya and Angus Cloud

Zendaya has paid an emotional tribute to her Euphoria co-star Angus Cloud following his death aged 25.

The US actress, who plays the lead role of recovering addict Rue on the popular HBO series, said she would remember Cloud for all of the boundless light, love, and joy he always managed to give them.

Cloud, who played drug dealer Fezco O’Neill in 17 episodes of the drama, died on Monday.

Cloud died at his family’s home in Oakland, California, after burying his father in Ireland last week.

The actor was one of the breakout stars of Euphoria, appearing alongside Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, and Jacob Elordi.

Other cast members including Colman Domingo, who played Ali Muhammad in the series, posted tributes on Tuesday.

Sharing a black and white photo of him on Instagram, Zendaya wrote:

“Words are not enough to describe the infinite beauty that is Angus (Conor). I’m so grateful I got the chance to know him in this life, to call him a brother, to see his warm kind eyes and bright smile, or hear his infectious cackle of a laugh (I’m smiling now just thinking of it).

“I know people use this expression often when talking about folks they love…’they could light up any room they entered’ but boy let me tell you, he was the best at it. I’d like to remember him that way. For all of the boundless light, love, and joy he always managed to give us. I’ll cherish every moment”.

Sharing a picture of a smiling Cloud taking a selfie with the cast in his orange suit at the Euphoria premiere, Domingo wrote:

“And that was his smile. That was him. May he rest sweetly in peace”.

Canadian rapper Drake, who serves as an executive producer on the series, also shared a tribute, calling Cloud a “Good soul”. He posted a picture of Cloud on Instagram.

Euphoria cast members and crew have paid tribute to actor Angus Cloud following his death.

He was one of the breakout stars of the gritty teen drama, appearing alongside Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, and Hunter Schafer in both seasons of the show, which launched in 2019.

Fans saw him on screen most often in scenes alongside his partner in crime Ashtray, played by teen actor and boxer Javon Walton.

Walton shared a picture of the pair together on Instagram. In another post, he wrote:

“Forever family”.

Meanwhile, Kathrine Narducci, who played Cloud’s on-screen grandmother Marie O’Neill, described Cloud as a “gentle beautiful soul”.

In a statement shared with US media outlets, director Sam Levinson said:

“There was no one quite like Angus. He was too special, too talented, and way too young to leave us so soon. He also struggled, like many of us, with addiction and depression. I hope he knew how many hearts he touched.

“I loved him. I always will. Rest in peace and God Bless his family”.

Other stars including West Side Story’s Rachel Zegler, Scandal star Kerry Washington, singer and actress Chloe Bailey, and British model and actress Suki Waterhouse are among those who have remembered the actor on social media.

US model Gigi Hadid, who starred with Cloud in a 2022 Christmas campaign for Ralph Lauren Fragrances, shared a clip of the pair dancing together.

She said:

“I only got to work with him a couple of times, but I was immediately drawn to his kind, gentle spirit”.
