NDC Shall Defeat Violent NPP Mob In 2024- Omane Boamah

Director of Elections and IT of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Edward Omane Boamah.

The newly appointed Director of Elections and IT of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has vowed a win for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 general elections, insisting that the party will defeat the “violent” NPP.

According to him, the incessant violence displayed by the party, is evident in instances where the NPP orchestrated violence in Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election which went unpunished, then, the dastardly killing of eight innocent Ghanaians followed during the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections. In addition, he noted that the authorized military invasion of the Chamber of Parliament at dawn on January 07, 2021, equally went unpunished, further proving the violent nature of the party.

Owing to this, Dr Omane Boamah emphasized the need for Ghanaians to remain resolute in their resolve to vote against the NPP.

“Peace-loving Ghanaians, including the religious and traditional leaders, must speak out against violence, particularly at a time that democracy is threatened in our contested sub-region. Trust that the NDC shall defeat this violent NPP mob in 2024.”

Dr Edward Omane Boamah

Reacting to the decision by a flagbearer aspirant of the NPP, Alan Kyerematen to speak on the assault of one of his agents during the recently held super delegates conference, Dr Boamah stated that the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia led NPP’s quest for power “knows no limits”.

He stated that due to the violent nature of the party, the NPP along with its leaders have descended heavily on their own, leaving “blood-oozing facial injuries” during the just ended “blood-tainted” Super Delegates elections showdown.

“Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia certainly has questions to answer, but he has ignored them just as he has refused to answer critical questions on the economy.”

Furthermore, Dr Omane Boamah stated that John Kwadwo Kyerematen may not survive the violence from the Bawumia camp, but NPP must understand that this is the last time violence will deliver victory to them. To this end, he urged all non-registered voters to register from 12th September 2023.

Elsewhere, member of parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Samuel Nartey George, indicated that it is time for all Ghanaians irrespective of political affiliation to stand up to the violent irresponsibility of the NPP and “say enough is enough”.

In light of this, he urged Ghanaians to “call out Nana Addo, Bawumia and their henchmen like COP George Mensah to account for their sins”.

During the polls on Saturday August 26, Ali Zakaria, an agent of one of the aspirants Mr Alan Kyerematen, was hit in the eye and had to be taken to the Baptist Medical Center (BMC) for immediate treatment. Following this, NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama criticized the violent happenings at the elections.

Mr Mahama stated that it appears violence has become the new normal for the NPP in any electoral contest they are involved in. To this end, he noted that acts of violence during what should be a peaceful civic exercise must be condemned by all well-meaning Ghanaians.

Mr Mahama explained that such brutal acts have no place in modern society, especially during an internal contest among persons who belong to the same party and have known each other for many years, which is detrimental to democracy.
