APN Partners AAI to Host Maiden Global Africa Forum in New York

The Africa-America Institute (AAI), an esteemed US-based international organisation committed to bolstering the human capacity of Africans, is set to co-host the inaugural Global Africa Forum (GAF) in collaboration with the Africa Prosperity Network (APN), the organisers of Africa Prosperity Dialogues (APD).

This forum will take place on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly in New York. The 2023 Global Africa Forum is a collaborative effort between the Africa Prosperity Network and the Africa-America Institute. It is designed to mobilise Global Africa Investments.

This initiative follows the release of the Action Compact earlier this year, which emerged from the 2023 Africa Prosperity Dialogues held in Ghana and was presented at the 2023 African Union annual meeting. The compact prioritises the mobilisation of alternative (domestic) funding as a key action to enhance intra-African trade.

GAF aims to bring together African heads of state, global business leaders, and change-makers in the social sphere. Its primary objective is to identify effective strategies to channel Global Africa funds as an alternative source of financing to boost trade among African countries.

The forum will also explore the necessary strategies and processes to ensure that Global Africa investments play a central role in efforts to enhance intra-African trade. The event, will take place on Thursday, September 21, 2023, and will be held on the margins of the 78th UN General Assembly under the theme: ‘Mobilizing Global Africa Investment to Boost Intra-African Trade’.

It will be attended by notable figures, including Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana; Prof. Benedict Oramah, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Afreximbank; Albert Muchanga, AUC Commissioner for Trade and Industry; and other influential leaders from both Africa and the global business community.

The Africa-America Institute (AAI), established in 1953, is dedicated to advancing the development of Africa through higher education and skills training, programme coordination, and capacity-building initiatives.

AAI Raises Funds To Provide Scholarships

AAI raises funds to provide scholarships to deserving but under-resourced students to attend top-performing African universities and develops programmes that enhance the skills of the next generation of African youth, making them globally competitive.

The Africa Prosperity Network (APN) is committed to achieving an Africa beyond aid and seeks to bring prosperity to the continent through critical dialogues that reshape the thinking of African leaders.

The APN aims to prioritise the participation of small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs), women, and young people in the economic narrative to ensure sustainable growth and prosperity in Africa.

The Africa Prosperity Dialogues (APD) represent APN’s flagship event, focusing on enhancing intra-African trade as a catalyst for economic prosperity.

Africa Prosperity Network, a private not-for-profit organization, was established with a vision to promote Africa beyond aid, by creating the platforms for holding critical dialogues that will reshape the thinking of the leaders of this continent and guide them into taking those bold steps in the area of trade, commerce, the structure of our national economies, political conduct and the culture that will bring prosperity to the people of Africa. The forum will greatly benefit the APN and the entire continent.
