NPP November 4 Primaries; Kennedy Agyapong Pledges To Transform Northern Ghana

Kennedy Agyapong in the midst Traditional Leaders in the Northern Region

A few days before the November 4 National Delegate Conference of the New Patriotic Party, presidential aspirant, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has declared his ambitions to transform the five northern regions of the country by focusing on the need to address unemployment and underdevelopment in the northern part of the country.

Addressing a group of supporters and delegates during his tour in the Northern region, the Assin Central Member of Parliament expressed his regret about the inadequate investment in the northern part of the country by successive governments despite the presence of vast, fertile lands.

According to Mr Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, he believes strongly that the vast and fertile land in the northern part of Ghana could be used for mechanized farming and agro-processing initiatives, which he believed could invigorate economic activities and create numerous job opportunities for the people in the region.

He called upon the politicians in the northern regions to tap into these vast resources for regional development.

In a promising turn of events, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer aspirant revealed that Yaa-Naa, the king of the Dagbon traditional area, had pledged to provide him with land in Savelugu and he would harness them to bring about significant improvements and advancements within the area if he  acquires the lands,

Furthermore, the flagbearer hopeful emphasized the potential for large-scale farming and agro-processing in the five northern regions particularly bearing in mind the geographical consistency of the terrain across various locations in the northern regions, including Bulga and Pusiga,

He lamented the absence of industrial facilities, stressing the untapped potential for development.

Moreover, Mr Kennedy Ohene Agyapong called on all the delegates in the five northern regions to rally behind and vote for his candidacy in the party’s November 4 National Delegate Conference, stressing his dedication towards transforming and developing the five northern regions.

He asserted that, if allowed to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and, subsequently, the country as President, he would spearhead the transformation of these regions within the shortest possible time.

Mr Kennedy Agyapong emphasized that his vision for the northern regions of Ghana is poised to generate significant attention and support as he positions himself as a catalyst for regional development and economic growth.

He promised to employ innovative agricultural practices and stressed his commitment to honest and patriotic leadership that would lead to transformative development for the country.

He also questioned the insufficient marketing of the northern regions and emphasized the importance of patriotic values, honesty, and discipline in managing the country’s resources.

Additionally, Mr Kennedy Ohene Agyapong assured the delegates and his supporters that he would manage the country’s affairs just as efficiently as he manages his businesses, without requiring additional funds.

He stressed the need for prudent resource management, advocated for more women in leadership roles, and called for an end to corruption in the country to end poverty and unemployment.

However, the Spokesperson for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s Campaign team, Dennis Miracles Aboagye has predicted that the Vice President will win 70% of valid votes at the party’s delegate’s conference to become the party’s flagbearer for the 2024 general elections.

Speaking in a media interview on Tuesday, October 24 2023, Mr Miracles Aboagye emphasized with great optimism that, the current Vice President is undoubtedly the flagbearer in waiting for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Mr. Miracles Aboagye also highlighted that the turmoil and occasional disagreements among leaders in the party should not be seen as reaching their zenith, rather it is a phase linked to the campaign period and he is very hopeful after the November 4 primaries the party will unite for victory in the 2024 general elections.
