The former Municipal Chief Executive of the Awutu Senya East Municipality and the Central Regional 2nd Vice Chairperson of the New Patriotic Party, Mike Mensah has warned the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East Constituency, Mavis Hawa Koomson to stop peddling lies about him.
In a statement released on Tuesday, October 24 2023, the former Municipal Chief Executive of the Awutu Senya East Municipality bemoaned the incessant attacks on his person and family by the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Honorable Mavis Hawa Koomson.
The New Patriotic Party Central Regional 2nd Vice Chairperson, Mr. Mike Mensah further indicated that even though he has chosen not to respond to the MP’s conduct against him, he cannot take it anymore as the MP’s conduct impugns his character.
“My attention has been drawn to countless calculated evil lies peddling, led by the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East (ASEC) Constituency and the Minister of Fisheries about me and my family. Even though these lies are unintelligent, I am unable to sit aloft for her to mistake herself as smart when in fact she is not.
“I wish to state that it is about time the Hon. MP and Minister respect the seat she occupies in parliament by observing some degree of decorum in her engagements. I have been quiet all this while albeit her evil actions against me and my family. There has been no reaction from me because of party unity and oneness. But I will not take it any longer”.

Again, Mr. Mensah accused Honorable Mavis Hawa Koomson, the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development of constantly engaging in propaganda to malign him and tarnish his reputation.
“I would like the MP to leave my name and that of my family out of her attempt to rejuvenate her sinking political image. I have not discussed any personal issue or political issues with her since I left office as MCE and do not wish to do the same ever! She has been very untruthful and deceptive about issues that concern me, and I have been quiet for the betterment of the party. My expectation of a ‘wise’ MP is that, if for nothing at all, she should know what, when, where, and how to say when she speaks”.

Moreover, Mr Mensah expressed disappointment in the failure of the leadership of the New Patriotic Party to call the Member of Parliament of Awutu Senya East Constituency to order upon several complaints he has made to the party leadership
He indicated that the inability of the party leadership to take action against the conduct of the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East Constituency, Mavis Hawa Koomson has emboldened her to continue with such conduct.
“I am at this point unable to stomach her uncontrolled behaviour towards me anymore and that a repeat of the same would occasion an equal and opposite reaction from me. I have had enough!!! If she thinks she’s powerful and influential as she purports, she should campaign on her strength on her journey of image rebranding”.

Mr. Mike Mensah thus called on the Awutu Senya East Constituency Member of Parliament, Honorable Mavis Hawa Koomson to refrain from her incessant attacks on him and his family and focus on her campaign.
Additionally, Mr Mensah admonished the residents of Awutu Senya East Constituency and its environs to disregard any lies and propaganda peddled by the Member of Parliament concerning him or his family.
