Mahama Touts NDC’s Competence In Developing Ghana

John Dramani Mahama

The former President and the National Democratic Congress flagbearer for the 2024 general elections, John Dramani Mahama has indicated that the National Democratic Congress has the right personnel coupled with the brilliant ideas to develop the country.

The former President made this statement when he paid a courtesy call on the chiefs and elders of Wenchi in the Bono Region as part of his Building Ghana Tour, on Friday, November 17 2023.

According to the National Democratic Congress flagbearer and leader, the National Democratic Congress is the only development-focused political party in the country that ensures effective and equitable distribution of the national resources when it is in power.

Again, Mr Mahama touted the National Democratic Congress’s track record of delivering on its mandate when it is in government

“We have the experience and the people to do the work. We are not like them, we don’t promise when we know we can’t deliver, and we don’t just promise we keep them, NDC is the only development-oriented party”.

Mr Mahama further indicated that unlike the New Patriotic Party which made so many promises when it was in opposition but yet is unable to deliver in government, the National Democratic Congress always makes promises that it can deliver when it is elected into government.

He noted that the National Democratic Congress has demonstrated significant dedication and commitment towards the development of the country for the period it has managed the affairs of the country.

VEEP Accused Of Engaging In Tribal And Religious  Politics

Meanwhile, the Founder of the Diaspora Progressive Movement in the USA, Dr Lawrence Appiah has accused the Vice President and the New Patriotic Party flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia of engaging in tribal and religious politics.

According to him, the Vice President ran his flagbearership bid in the New Patriotic Party Presidential Primaries without any tangible message to the party’s delegates but only on tribal and religious lines.

“Whenever an NPP tells you that the 2024 elections are going to be based on issues, don’t mind him/her. That person is just trying to run away from Dr. Bawumia being a religious flip-flopper. What issues did Dr. Bawumia present to the delegates in their November election? One thing he told the delegates was that he was selected because he is a Muslim and that he is representing the interests of the Muslim community and not his own. Didn’t you hear him say that?

Moreover, Dr Lawrence Appiah chastised the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia of deceiving Ghanaians under the guise of religious tolerance.

According to him the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has failed to demonstrate his true religion over the years simply because of his presidential ambitions.

Dr Lawrence Appiah thus admonished Ghanaians to vote against the Vice President and the New Patriotic Party in the 2024 general elections as the current administration has failed to develop the country despite having access to huge resources over the period it has been in power.

“The NPP has started selling Dr Bawumia as a gentle, humble and poor man. They think we have short memories and will quickly forget how we foolishly voted for Nana Addo in 2016 and 2020. Campaigning against Dr Bawumia needs not to be so sophisticated. Anything little can bring and shut him down completely”.
