NPP Primaries: Ursula Owusu Expresses Confidence In Retaining Ablekuma West Seat

The Honourable Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the Minister of Communications and Digitalization and the current Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West has voiced confidence in her ability to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to victory on December 7, 2024.

The Ablekuma West Lawmaker addressing her constituents and the media after her vetting of the New Patriotic Party parliamentary primaries indicated that the New Patriotic Party’s supporters in the Ablekuma West constituency are prepared and eager to support her for the party to retain her seat.

“Members of the party have indeed identified me again, as the best potential to retain the seat. I have accepted to lead them as their parliamentary candidate for 2024. This is because they have seen in me such leadership qualities which I have exhibited over the years and they are confident that with me as their candidate, victory is guaranteed. It’s Possible Together”.

The Minister of Communications and Digitalization while extending her deep appreciation to the Greater Accra Regional Vetting Committee and the national leadership for ensuring a smooth vetting process in preparation for the parliamentary primaries for its incumbent members of parliament on January 27, 2024, expressed confidence that the New Patriotic Party would emerge victorious at the end of the entire process.

She strongly asserted that the New Patriotic Party has over the years demonstrated that it truly upholds the tenant of good governance and democracy in the country which has made it a leading example in the sub-region and the continent at large.

Ursula-Owusu Touts Her Achievements In Office

The vociferous politician touting her achievements as the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West argued that she had made Ablekuma West Constituency a traditional stronghold for the New Patriotic Party through her good works.

The Communications and Digitalization Minister further indicated that she is very committed and dedicated to working in collaboration with her constituents, members and supporters of the New Patriotic Party to maintain that for a long time, stressing her 2024 slogan as ‘It’s Possible Together’.

According to the Honorable Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, members of the New Patriotic Party, particularly the delegates in the Ablekuma West Constituency, have high expectations of her because of the wonderful deeds she has been performing as the Member of Parliament.

She further pledged to guarantee the building of high-quality roads inside the constituency, as well as to keep offering youth and women job opportunities and start-up financing as part of her responsibilities to improve the standard of living of her constituents.  

As per her statement, the Ablekuma Constituency has benefited from several initiatives implemented by her outfit thus far, including road construction projects, youth skill acquisition, ICT labs, scholarships, and modest loans.

Meanwhile, the Vetting Committee which was chaired by the National Women’s Organizer of the party, Kate Gyamfua commended Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful for her contributions to the New Patriotic Party both in her capacities as Minister of state and Member of Parliament.

The New Patriotic Party will on 27th January 2024 hold its primaries to select candidates that will represent the party in the various constituencies it has incumbent Members of Parliament for the 2024 December 7 general elections.

However, the party has constituted a National Parliamentary Appeals Committee (NPAC) to consider appeals from aspirants and other stakeholders.

Membership of the Committee consists of Hon. Osei Prempeh as Chairman, Mr. Evans Nimako as Secretary and Hon. Opare Ansah, Madam Esther Ofori, Ambassador R.O. Solomon, Prof. Emmanuel Flolu, Dr. Clifford Braimah,  Hon. Eugenia Gifty Kusi, Dr. Agyeman Budu, and  Alhaji Amadu Kalem as members.
