The political arena in Ghana is heating up as the Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Richard Ahiagbah, has responded sharply to the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah. Ahiagbah dismissed Nketiah’s claims and confidently asserted that the 2024 general elections will end in defeat for the NDC.
Asiedu Nketiah, in a press conference, had suggested that the NPP administration should start preparing their handing over notes. In a counter-response, Ahiagbah emphasized that the 2024 elections are about programs and policies, not “subtle threats of violence” and “vain innuendos.” He argued that the focus should be on which candidate has the best policies to manage the economy, and he pointed to the NPP’s Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as the one ready to lead with “humility, capacity, and the fear of God.”
“NDC should not get it twisted. We have seen you this confident and boastful before. Please note, Chairman Mosquito, where we have gotten to as people or a democracy, it is not simply a question of it is my turn or to propagate hardship. No no no…..Chairman. It is about programs and policies, not subtle threats of violence and vain innuendos. Bawumia is next to lead with humility, capacity and the fear of God to unleash Ghana’s production potential to benefit of all Ghanaians.

But regarding your suggestion to the NPP, respectfully Chairman, I think you should be the one preparing for retirement on 7th Dec 2024; because it will be your LAST DANCE, and it will end in defeat.
