Security Analyst Cautions COP Rtd Mensah Over His Allegations Against IGP

Adam Bona

A Security Analyst Dr. Adam Bonaa has weighed in advising Retired Commissioner of Police (COP) George Alex Mensah on the appropriate course of action he ought to take involving his allegations of money-sharing against the Inspector General Police., Dr George Akufo-Addo.

Responding to Mensah’s accusations against Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akufo-Addo Dampare, Dr Bonaa urged Mensah to report any evidence of alleged money-sharing to the Office of the Special Prosecutor.

Dr Bonaa emphasized the importance of presenting concrete evidence rather than making unsupported claims, citing a previous case where the Special Prosecutor took action based on evidence.

“The Special prosecutor arrested the CEO of the NEIP for allegedly sharing money with some people and I don’t know if that issue has been resolved. So as a senior police officer who is retired and gunning to be the Parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bekwai area, you know what to do.

“Do you have any evidence? If you have the proof what do you do, you go to the Special Prosecutor or show the proof. If you just say I have the proof and you don’t share the proof and you go on this tangent.  For me it doesn’t surprise me because what they attempted to do was to subvert the will of the people and go on and on”.

COP Rtd, George Alex Mensah, aspiring to be the parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bekwai area, has once again accused IGP Dampare of allegedly paying delegates to vote against him in the upcoming parliamentary primaries.

Meanwhile, Wa West Member of Parliament and Member of the Parliament Adhoc Committee that investigated the leaked audio, Peter Lanchene Toobu addressed the public’s concerns over the delay in the release of the committee’s report on the leaked tape.

The Wa West legislator acknowledged the public’s interest and justified the delay, emphasizing the need to ensure the report’s accuracy and legal soundness.

He highlighted the committee’s commitment to producing a comprehensive document that stands the test of time, despite the frustration it may cause.

“I think that I side with the public we’ve delayed a bit, I personally feel that we should have signed this off long ago. But you know, as a Committee there are a lot of legalities and a lot of things to clear so that when the report comes out it can stand the test of time.

“We’ve our reputation at stake and I am quite convinced that with the Chairman Honorable Atta Akyea in charge and Vice Chairman Honorable James Agalga, all of us putting our heads together, we want to do a good job. Because many years to come people will go into the archives and refer to this report and we don’t want to do shoddy work”

Peter Lanchene Toobu

However, the leaked report of the committee, which investigated the allegations against the Inspector General of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare, has surfaced on social media, reportedly clearing the IGP of all accusations and recommending further investigations and potential prosecution for the senior police officers involved.
