In a heartfelt plea amidst the prevailing economic hardship, Nigerian singer Simi has urged firstborns to prioritize their welfare first before anyone else’s.

Acknowledging the immense financial burden that many families endure, Simi emphasizes the importance of allowing the eldest siblings to be unhindered by the weight of responsibility often placed upon them.

She stated that being the firstborn does not obligate one to provide for the financial needs of all family members.

Simi asserted that some firstborn children have had panic episodes as a result of repeated demands from family members.

Simi further added that firstborns should learn how to set boundaries when it comes to lending support to family members and should be allowed to live in peace.

“Y’all need to let your firstborns breathe. They came first does not mean they should carry everybody’s load. Many of them don’t even like you anymore, because when you text them na so so panic attack. They’re just not allowed to say it. Let them breathe. Also, first born sef learn how to say no and set boundaries. You deserve peace too,” she wrote on her X handle.

It can be recalled that Simi tackled a female preacher who advised girls to ditch their natural hair for wigs.

Making the case that keeping a professional appearance is vital. She suggested that some women choose to forgo personal grooming after marriage in favor of the ease of having natural hair.

Reiterating that ladies ought to spend more money on wigs and that having natural hair is not advantageous, the preacher stood at the pulpit and flaunted her own long, expensive wig.

Her message came out as disparaging of individuals who prefer to accept their natural hair, even though her purpose may have been to inspire ladies to feel confident and elegant.

Simi noted that women struggle with loving themselves when statements about their natural hair are said. To her, the preacher promoted harmful stereotypes by stating that women needed to do away with their natural hair to seem attractive. She then slammed her for being a bad role model to young ladies and giving bad advice.

Nigerian Afrobeats singer and songwriter, Adekunle Almoruf Kosoko, known professionally as Adekunle Gold, and his wife, Simisola Bolatito Kosoko, better known by her stage name, Simi have celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary with mushy words.

In a post made on his page, the Afrobeats singer shared a music video with his beautiful wife and an emotional caption.

“5 years today we said I do. Sharing, Loving, laughing, Giving, Taking, and choosing each other every day. Happy 5th Anniversary to both of us. We made a little something to share our love with you – ‘Look What You Made Me Do’,” the caption read.

Simi, on the other hand, shared rare photos from their wedding, 5 years ago and captioned it.

“5 years. Almoruf, FIVE YEARS of matrimonial activities. I used to tell everyone who would listen that you’re the best man I know. We’re not even the same people anymore, but it’s still true baby. I’m so thankful to God for my life with you. I love you so truly, deeply, completely. You’re my best friend. I feel safe with you. And seen. And spoiled. And happy. And favored.

“Thank you for contributing your DNA for us to make the most amazing child in the world. Thank you for continuing to choose me – with your actions, your words, your intentions.”
