As investigations into the incident unfold, Mahama’s statement serves as a rallying cry for collective efforts to address the underlying issues, promote reconciliation, and prevent further violence in the Bawku municipality.

The former President’s appeal for collaboration between the military and the police also underscores the need for a comprehensive and coordinated approach to maintain peace and security in the region.

Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for Bawku Central in the Upper East Region, Honorable Mahama Ayariga has accused some members of the Ghana Armed Forces for not demonstrating adequate professionalism in the conduct of their responsibilities leading to the death of three individuals in Bawku.

The Bawku Central lawmaker in strong disapproval of the military conduct involving the killing of three individuals at Bawku described the military conduct as unacceptable.

“They were murdered because the military actually apprehended them and they had no reason to shoot and kill these three young men. Young men were sitting in their base and having their conversation, and then the military pounced on them. One escaped, they shot and missed and then the three that were there, they apprehended them, beat them up and then they shot them. Exactly that is why I’m condemning them because they should produce the provocation – what was the provocation?”

Honorable Mahama Ayariga

Mr Ayariga however, called on the leadership of the Ghana Armed Forces to undertake measures to apprehend the military personnel whose action led to the killing of the three individuals in Bawku.
