Kwaw Kese has revealed that if there is any valuable advice to give an aspiring musician, it would be to leverage social media.

He mentioned that he used to be approached by a lot of young artists seeking advice and mentorship, “but now, if you tell me to show you the way, I’ll tell you to do social media,” he said.

He proceeded to cite examples of successful music talents who were discovered on social media.

“Better than chasing me to help you, the help is now [readily] there on smartphones connected to the internet,” Kwaw Kese stressed.

The rap star challenged, pointing to Safo Newman of “Akokoa” fame as a classic recent example.

Kwaw Kese’s new “Awoyo Sofo” featuring Kofi Mole became an instant hit upon release on February 19, 2024. The song mocks religious leaders who abuse their power and congregation. The rapper talks about how he was able to outwit a dubious pastor.

The song was produced by Kwadjo Asante Opuku, also known as Skonti.

The rapper and boss of Madtime Entertainment who seemed proud of his latest banger, said the tune would put all his haters to shame when they hear it playing everywhere.

Also, he claimed that all secular musicians, including rapper Sarkodie, take inspiration from the works he produced over the years, adding that he is the “King of Kings” in terms of music in Ghana.

Award-winning Ghanaian Hiplife artist, Kwaw Kese believes that he deserves the government’s recognition for his significant contributions to the Ghanaian music scene.

With a career spanning two decades, Kwaw Kese, who is also known as Abodam believes he left an indelible mark on the industry through his musical prowess and innovative approach.

Kwaw Kese noted that he didn’t only entertain but also shaped the musical landscape. He consistently delivered hit songs that resonated with diverse audiences, showcasing his lyrical dexterity and unique sound.

The ‘Awoyo Sofo’ hitmaker revealed that he needs to be honored for his contributions to the music fraternity, emphasizing that he needs to be honored nationally.

“I have been in the industry for 20 years, this year is my 20th year in the industry and it has been a back-to-back something. From Releasing hit songs and bangers to performances yeah, I feel good. For ‘flowers’ I haven’t received enough but to myself, I’m proud of myself,”  he said.

Asked what he expects, the crooner said, “I expect a lot but you can’t have everything. I believe I deserve to be honored nationally by the government. You know when we came to the scene, it wasn’t the same as we are seeing now, I came in and I changed everything. So I believe I deserve to be honored officially.”

Celebrating his 20th year in the industry, Kwaw Kese emphasized that despite not receiving sufficient acknowledgment, he takes pride in his achievements.
