The comedian, born Benson Nana Yaw Oduro, was arrested on the evening of Sunday, March 24, 2024, after he hit four people – a mother with two children and a motor rider – with his car, in an accident at Kakraba, in Kasoa.

So far, one of the victims has been in a coma since the accident while the other three are receiving treatment at the Winneba Trauma Centre.

Isaac Asare, the victim’s brother, explained that initially, his brother was transferred to Ridge Hospital, but they could not admit him due to bed shortages.

Subsequently, he was redirected to the Police Hospital, where admission was unavailable.

Faced with these challenges, Mr. Asare stated that his brother was later taken to the community hospital in Kakraba. He noted that they hope for divine intervention to facilitate a transfer to a larger medical facility.

In a video posted, Kwaku Manu revealed that Vanessa has been the primary caregiver for the children she shares with Funny Face for the past four years.

“Funny Face has not contributed financially to their upkeep during their separation. It is unfair for Funny Face to continuously vilify his baby mama on social media by making allegations including claims that she has separated him from his children.”

The Kumawood actor mentioned that since making a comeback in the industry, Funny Face made no efforts to visit his children in the Ashanti Region where they live.

He highlighted Miss Vanessa’s responsibilities in providing for their children’s basic needs such as food, education, and medical expenses, while also managing their day-to-day care.

Kwaku Manu noted that she [Vanessa] cannot be expected to carry her children to Accra when she is not only their sole caretaker but, is working to provide for them.

The actor cum presenter disclosed that despite all this, she facilitates video calls between Funny Face and the children.

“Additionally, there are other people through whom he first met Miss Vanessa that Funny Face could contact for help,” the Kumawood actor said.

Kwaku Manu advised that it is important for the comedian to put his interests aside and put his children’s interests and future before his.“Funny Face cannot claim to want to see his children without making any effort to see them,” he further added.

Meanwhile, Kwaku Manu has pleaded with Funny Face to get his life together. He asserted that if the comedian does not turn a new leaf and focus on how to make something meaningful out of his life, Ghanaians will not like him, and the frustration might lead to a decline in his fame or deepen his woes.

He added that the comedian’s insults he rained on his ex-wife, Vanessa, and her mother on social media have made some women generate hatred towards him, which is affecting his life as well.

Kwaku Manu urged Funny Face to cling to advice and remain focused in life, by doing so, he will overcome the difficulties he is grappling with, adding that he [Kwaku Manu] can relate to his [Funny Face] pain because it’s not easy to be famous without money.
