NPP’s Communications Director Shoots-down Mahama’s Presidential Bid

Former President John Dramani Mahama

The Director of Communications for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah has warned Ghanaians regarding the potential ramifications of electing former President John Dramani Mahama in the upcoming 2024 elections.

Mr Ahiagbah, while calling on Ghanaians to vote for the New Patriotic Party flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the December 7 polls, further emphasized the critical importance of Ghanaians considering not only the candidates’ ideas and visions but also their capacity to implement transformative policies within the allotted time frame.

According to Mr Ahiagbah, given the fact that the opposition party’s flagbearer former President John Dramani is eligible for only one term which will span for four years when elected into power, it would therefore be impracticable and unfeasible for him to deliver on his mandate.

“The 2024 election is critical for Ghana’s future, and it must be about more than just ideas and visions. We must consider how much time a candidate has to implement their plans.

“Former President Mahama has admitted that it’s impossible to transform a country in four years. So, even if he wins, he won’t be able to deliver on his promises. Why vote for someone who can’t make a real difference?”.

Richard Ahiagbah

He strongly argued that electing former President John Dramani Mahama who has such limitations would ultimately result in unfulfilled promises and further dash hopes for the country’s progress and development.

Furthermore, Richard Ahiagbah, the ruling New Patriotic Party Director Of Communications cautioned against the potential chaos and uncertainty that would ensue under former President John Dramani Mahama’s Presidency when elected in the December 7 polls.

He alleged that internal power struggles within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would commence immediately after the National Democratic Congress flagbearer assumes power.

Referring to a former Minister for Interior under the late Jerry John Rawlings’s administration,  Kwesi Ahwoi’s recent remarks, Mr Ahiagbah asserted that the scramble for who would lead the National Democratic Congress after former President John Dramani Mahama has already commenced.

He posited that such a situation would go a long way to undermine Mr Mahama’s ability to steer the affairs of the country effectively when elected into power.

Mr Ahiagbah also expressed deep concerns, arguing that Mr Mahama’s entire term when elected as President of the country would be consumed by internal leadership disputes rather than focused governance.

He warned that such distractions would divert attention away from pressing national issues, which would ultimately undermine the country’s effort towards achieving prosperity for all citizens.

Calls To Vote For Dr Bawumia

While urging voters to prioritize steady leadership and growth ahead of the December 7 polls, Mr Ahiagbah called on Ghanaians to vote for the Vice President and the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

The New Patriotic Party Director of Communications further asserted that Ghana requires a leader who possesses the requisite time, energy, and vision to confront the country’s challenges head-on and deliver tangible results for the citizens.

According to him, the New Patriotic Party’s Presidential Candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is the right choice to lead Ghana forward.

He touted that the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has demonstrated capacity and the potential to implement bold solutions which positions him as the best man to lead the country after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Mr Ahiagbah concluded by emphasizing the need for Ghanaians to vote for the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and the New Patriotic Party in the December 7 polls to enable the party to continue its progressive and developmental agenda for growth and transformation for the country.
