NDC to Unveil Running Mate for 2024 General Election

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced plans to officially unveil Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemeng as the running mate to the party’s flagbearer former President John Dramani Mahama for the 2024 General Election.

The National Communications Officer of the opposition party, Sammy Gyamfi Esq. in a statement indicated that the event is scheduled on Wednesday, the 24th of April, 2024 at the Kofi Ohene Konadu Auditorium at the University of Professional Studies (UPSA) in Accra.

“The National Democratic Congress (NDC), announces for the information of its rank and file and the general public, that the party shall hold a ceremony to out-door its Running Mate for the 2024 General Election in Accra next week. The event will commence at 4:00pm prompt, by which time all invited guests and attendees must be seated”

Mr Gyamfi further mentioned that the unveiling ceremony would have in attendance some distinguished personalities including the party’s flagbearer for the upcoming elections, former President John Dramani Mahama.

Furthermore, the National Democratic Congress National Communications Officer indicated that key figures such as members of the Functional Executive Committee and the esteemed Council of Elders of the party would equally grace the occasion.

Other noteworthy attendees according to Mr Gyamfi would include parliamentarians, representatives from the Diplomatic Corps, the Clergy, traditional leaders, women’s groups, scholars from academia, representatives of Civil Society Organizations, labour unions, as well as luminaries from the Creative Arts sector.

The unveiling of Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as the National Democratic Congress’s running mate in the view of the party’s National Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi Esq. signifies a significant milestone in the party’s quest to capture the imagination and trust of the Ghanaian electorate ahead of the upcoming December 7 polls.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang to Articulate NDC’s Vision

Moreover, Sammy Gyamfi Esq., the National Communications Officer of the opposition party stated that the spotlight of the occasion will shine brightly on Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, who will take centre stage to articulate the National Democratic Congress’s vision for a progressive, inclusive, and prosperous Ghana.

He further emphasized that Professor Opoku-Agyemang’s address is anticipated to outline the transformative policies being championed by the party’s flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama to set the stage for a compelling narrative in the run-up to the December 7 polls.

In addition, Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi stated in his statement that a series of pre-event activities have been scheduled to preced Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang’s keynote address to captivate attendees before the  official commencement of the main program at 5:00 pm, Wednesday, 24 April, 2024.

The National Communications Officer of the opposition party concluded his statement by urging all guests and media representatives to be seated by 4:00 pm to ensure the smooth execution of the event.

He further called on various media houses keen on providing coverage of the ceremony to liaise with the National Communications Bureau of the National Democratic Congress for necessary accreditation.

Sammy Gyamfi Esq., the National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress also expressed the party’s unwavering commitment to transparency and inclusivity, inviting all stakeholders to join in what he described as the most pivotal moment of the country’s political landscape.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) announced the selection of Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as its running mate in a press release signed by the party’s General Secretary, Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey on March 7, 2024.

Professor Jane Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang was also paired with former President John Dramani as the party’s running mate for the 2020 Presidential election. She also served as the Education Minister under the NDC-Mahama’s administration from 2013 to 2017.
