The Shatta Movement Empire has apologized to the members of the Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled after Shatta Wale was filmed “mocking” the disability of his colleague, Stonebwoy.

A letter addressed to the GSPD, signed by Shatta Wale’s manager Samuel Atuobi Baah, noted that the ‘Melisa’ hitmaker had no intention of making fun of or belittling persons with disabilities.

Sammy Flex, as he is popularly known, noted that his artiste only wanted to show others the need for Stonebwoy to show respect to others and maintain proper conduct.

“We understand that the wording of the statement may have been insensitive and we acknowledge the concerns raised. It was not our intention to cause any harm, and we value and respect the contributions and rights of individuals with disabilities in our society. We will strive to be more mindful of our words and actions in the future. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we appreciate your understanding.”

However, a week later the GSPD condemned Shatta Wale’s actions as irresponsible and potentially harmful to the mental health of the physically disabled community.

The group called for Shatta Wale to apologize to the community and take measures to remove the offensive videos from social media platforms.

Meanwhile, the GSPD in a new press release has acknowledged the apology from Shatta Wale and his team.

“We accept the apology and appreciate their commitment to promoting inclusivity as there is a need for all of us to work together and create a more inclusive environment for all, regardless of disabilities.

“We would also like to use this opportunity to thank all members of the disability community for their patience and all stakeholders for their support. Let us be mindful of the reality that disability can be anyone’s lot anytime.”

A renowned relationship expert, Counselor Adofoli, recommended that the popular musician Shatta Wale should consider including a mental health professional within his management team, citing concerns over the artist’s public outbursts.

Counselor Adofoli highlighted Shatta Wale’s history of emotional volatility, particularly during high-stress situations such as the VGMA awards ceremony and disputes with Charterhouse Productions, as examples of instances where better emotional management could have been beneficial.

The renowned counselor Adofoli observed that Shatta Wale often uses social media to express his anger.

The relationship expert suggested that Shatta Wale’s inner circle may refrain from addressing sensitive issues to avoid upsetting him, underscoring the potential value of having a counselor, therapist, or psychologist on his team.

“Some people…don’t know how to handle their emotions in stressful situations, and so they lash out publicly. Those close to him and on his team likely avoid saying things that might upset him. That’s why having a counselor, therapist, or psychologist on his team would be beneficial.”

The celebrity counselor explained that the experts could help him.

“These experts could help him healthily process his emotions so that he doesn’t take them out on the public. Many celebrities could benefit from counseling.”

The recommendation comes amidst growing awareness of mental health issues within the entertainment industry, with increasing recognition of the importance of the supervision of emotional well-being for public figures.

The Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled (GSPD) had issued a stern caution to Shatta Wale, urging the musician to refrain from mocking his colleague, Stonebwoy, over his disability.
