In commenting on the party’s strategies to address the perceived challenges facing Ghanaian workers under the current government, the General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Honorable Fifi Fiavi Kwetey outlined five key pledges aimed at stabilizing the country’s economy.

Firstly, Honorable Fifi Kwetey recounted the National Democratic Congress’s plans to implement robust policies to control inflation and enhance job security, ensuring economic stability for every Ghanaian.

Secondly, Mr Kwetey underscored the party’s plans to overhaul the existing tax system to reduce the financial burden on workers and redirect government spending towards public benefits that enhance the quality of life of citizens.

Moreover, the General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress affirmed the party’s promises to advance its dynamic 24-hour economy policy to provide meaningful employment opportunities for all households in the country.

He also affirmed the party’s pledges to enforce fair labour practices and ensure robust rights for all workers, defending them against exploitation and injustice when it assumes power in 2025.

In addition, Honorable Fifi Fiavi Kwetey announced the National Democratic Congress plans to undertake comprehensive measures to improve the country’s pension system to provide and guarantee a secure retirement for all Ghanaian workers.

He emphasized that the hard work of Ghanaian workers is the bedrock of the nation’s prosperity and vowed the party’s commitment to transforming challenging times into an era of abundant opportunities and enhanced livelihoods for every worker when elected into power.

Honourable Fifi Fiavi Kwetey concluded his statement by urging all Ghanaians to rally behind the party’s flagbearer former President John Dramani Mahama as he seeks to build the Ghana every citizen envisions, where fairness, economic security, inclusive growth, and prosperity will prevail.

Mr Kwetey further underscored the opposition party’s strong commitment to prioritize the welfare of workers and address the pressing economic challenges facing the nation when given the mandate to steer the affairs of the country in the December 7 polls.

“Together, we can usher in a new dawn of fairness, economic security, inclusive growth, and prosperity. Stand with us, for with the NDC, a brighter future is not just a promise it is a commitment”.

Fifi Fiavi Kwetey

His statement ended with warm wishes for all Ghanaian workers on the occasion of Worker’s Day, stressing that the courage of the Ghanaian workers fuels the party’s resolve to restore hope.
