Kumawood Actor Warns Critiques Against His Movie

Lil Win

Kumawood actor, LilWin, has issued a warning that he will pursue legal action against any film critic or blogger who disparages his film, “A Country Called Ghana”, without actually viewing it.

He stated that only those who have watched the film and are knowledgeable about its content should offer critiques.

“I invite everyone to watch my movie. I can confidently say that no one who sees it will doubt its quality. Excluding Mr Logic and Kwadwo Sheldon, who are restricted from viewing my film, I encourage all stakeholders to be involved.

“Yet, if any pundit or blogger critiques my movie without watching it, I will make sure they face legal consequences and I have informed the IGP about it.”

LilWin

LilWin quizzed the reason for the critiques for his yet-to-be-premiered movie.

“I’m unfazed by criticism of my movie. If a thousand people see it, I assure you none will find it subpar. Regarding Kwadwo Sheldon, when I invited the Nigerians, he mocked them as avengers. I had to clarify that I wasn’t responsible for that. He critiques music but has never critiqued my music or any of my films. So, why target ‘A Country Called Ghana?.”

LilWin

LilWin’s much-talked-about movie will be showing at different venues across the country from May 25 to June 1, 2024.

LilWin And Mr. Logic Argue

Mr. Logic and LiWin

LilWin found himself in a heated exchange with artist manager and entertainment pundit, Mr. Logic.

It all began when LilWin while discussing the challenges of the Ghanaian movie industry, lamented the lack of support from relevant stakeholders.

He criticized the tendency to focus on highlighting the industry’s shortcomings rather than offering assistance. LilWin singled out Mr. Logic, a fellow guest on the show, alleging that he lacks knowledge of movie production but still criticizes movie producers’ efforts.

“Our leaders have relegated the movie industry to the background. They provide absolutely no support at all. So, they are all watching the industry collapse. Mr. Logic over here does not know the industry; he knows nothing about the industry.”

LilWin

Mr. Logic took offense to LilWin’s remarks and retorted, questioning LilWin’s understanding of movie production.

“What did you say? That I know nothing about the movie industry? That I lack movie knowledge? What do you know about movie production?” Mr. Logic fired back.

In his defense, Mr. Logic argued that a deep understanding of casting and directing is essential in navigating the movie industry.

“When did you produce your first movie? In which year were you first cast as an actor? So, you assume you know about the industry because you’re an actor? Anyone who understands directing and casting can easily produce a movie.”

Mr. Logic

The seeming feud between Mr. Logic and LilWin stems from a comment made by Mr. Logic regarding the movie “A Country Called Ghana,” produced by LilWin.

Mr. Logic expressed concerns about the cast, particularly LilWin’s decision to include Nigerian actors when there are equally talented actors in Ghana.

In response, LilWin joked about Mr. Logic and alleged that the artist manager consumes marijuana-infused edibles. Following LilWin’s accusation, Mr. Logic made it public that he was going to take legal action against the actor.

Also, LilWin gave the divulged updates regarding his ongoing legal tussle with fellow actress Martha Ankomah.

He revealed that they have appeared in court on two occasions, aiming for a peaceful resolution through legal mediation.

LilWin expressed hope for a positive outcome, indicating that the proceedings are moving in a direction that suggests a swift resolution.
