Richard Ahiagbah, Director of Communications-NPP

The New Patriotic Party’s Communications Director, Richard Ahiagbah, has alleged that the National Democratic Congress is exploiting Ghanaians’ economic grievances as a political tool to discredit the ruling government ahead of the 2024 elections.

However, Richard Ahiagbah noted that the NDC’s strategy will no longer be effective, as Ghanaians are now wise to their tactics and are able to see through the rhetoric, reading between the lines and recognizing the opposition’s true intentions.

He pointed out that the public is coming to realize that, absent the unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine War, Ghana’s economy would have maintained its trajectory as one of the world’s fastest-growing economies, building on its impressive performance in 2019.

The NPP Communicator highlighted that Ghanaians still recall the economic mismanagement that characterized the NDC’s tenure under President John Dramani Mahama from 2013 to 2016, a period marked by widespread economic hardship and misrule.

“Bawumia stands out because he is believable, and despite the NDC’s propaganda, Bawumia’s credentials as an economic phenom remain solid. Despite setbacks due to COVID-19, the Russia-Ukraine War, and the NDC’s desperate speculations, the economy is recovering”.

Furthermore, Richard Ahiagbah emphasized that Vice President Bawumia’s visionary leadership and comprehensive economic strategy will propel Ghana towards a more resilient and thriving economy.

He confidently assured that the Vice President’s visionary plans for Ghana are not only achievable but also well within the realm of possibility, poised to become a tangible reality under Dr. Bawumia’s able leadership.

Moreover, Richard Ahiagbah categorically stated that Dr. Bawumia’s impressive track record and demonstrated capability to effectively manage Ghana’s economy make him the most suitable candidate to lead the country forward, his presidential credentials and economic acumen being unquestionably strong.

As such, he passionately appealed to Ghanaians to rally behind Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s presidential bid on December 7th, entrusting him with the mandate to steer the nation towards a brighter economic future, characterized by stability, growth, and prosperity for all.

Bawumia Pledges Transparency and Accountability

Furthermore, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the NPP, echoed Richard Ahiagbah’s sentiments, assuring that, if elected president on December 7, he will prioritize transparency and accountability to the Ghanaian people, exceeding the standards of his opponent, former President John Mahama.

This, the Vice President explained, is because he will be motivated to deliver tangible results and maintain accountability to the people, knowing that he will have to face them again at the polls when seeking re-election after his first term in office.

In contrast, Dr. Bawumia suggested that John Mahama, who is term-limited and won’t be seeking re-election, would not be similarly constrained to prioritize the people’s interests, potentially leading to a lack of accountability.

“An 8-year term means that you are first going to give me a 4-year term, this means I have to work very hard to justify why you have to give me another four years. And so I will be more accountable. I will come back to you and say this is what I have been able to do and then you can you will renew my license and I will drive the vehicle so we go forward”.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia

Highlighting the ruling government’s impressive record, the NPP flagbearer proudly asserted that the current administration has accomplished more for Ghana than any previous government, showcasing a plethora of significant achievements that have positively impacted the nation and its citizens.

Accordingly, Dr. Bawumia urged Ghanaians to renew their trust in him and the NPP government by voting for him on December 7th, 2024, promising to continue and expand the government’s transformative initiatives, ultimately leading to economic prosperity, job creation, and improved living standards for all Ghanaians.

The Vice President made these statements on his ongoing tour of the Ashanti Region, a traditional bastion of support for the NPP, as he continues to engage with party loyalists and stakeholder groups in the area.
