According to Joyce Mogtari Bawah, Special Aide to John Mahama, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) attempts to undermine Mahama’s 24-hour Economy initiative will ultimately prove futile and unsuccessful.
Joyce Mogtari Bawah asserted that the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) strategy to downplay the significance of John Mahama’s 24-hour Economy policy, as part of their “no message” campaign, will ultimately fail to diminish its transformative impact, which is evident and substantial.
“The 24-hour economy resonates strongly with the unemployed or underemployed, parents with children who are still unemployed, offering the promise of sustainable and well-paid employment”.

According to Madam Bawah, John Mahama’s 24-hour Economy policy will be seamlessly integrated into the comprehensive industrialization program that his administration will establish and execute, as he has previously outlined.
Madam Bawah emphasized that John Mahama’s vision for Ghana’s development is rooted in a robust industrial economy that operates around the clock, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, driving growth and progress.
According to Bawah, John Mahama’s vision for Ghana’s industrial economy will be fueled by key sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, and exports, which will thrive under the government’s business-friendly policies and economic expansion initiatives.
This, she noted, will lead to sustained growth, job creation, and a robust economy that benefits all Ghanaians.
Furthermore, she highlighted that during John Mahama’s four-year presidency, he oversaw the development of some of the most remarkable social and economic infrastructure projects in Ghana’s history, leaving a lasting legacy of progress and transformation.
According to Bawah, John Mahama is poised to launch a historic industrial revitalization effort that will unlock unprecedented job opportunities, exceed the current workforce requirements of manufacturing and production facilities, and usher in a new era of economic growth and development.

Moreover, Joyce Mogtari Bawah emphasized that with his impressive track record, John Mahama’s return to power will herald a landmark industrialization revolution, driving sustainable growth and employment opportunities for the youth.
She noted that this vision, operating three 8-hour shifts per day, will maximize productivity and transform Ghana’s economy, building on Mahama’s impressive track record as a nation-builder.

Meanwhile, the NPP dismissed the NDC 24-hour economy initiative as merely a “phase”, implying that it is a fleeting idea with no lasting substance or impact.
Edward Nana Boakye, National Organizer of the NPP, criticized the NDC’s 24-hour economy policy, stating that its lack of substance and clarity is evident in the party’s inability to provide a coherent and comprehensive explanation of how it would effectively transform Ghana’s economy, despite claims of its potential impact.
“From JDM’s explanation of Nkokobuo-nkititi to Asiedu Nketia’s free electricity to welders and farmers in their farms, to Felix Ofosu Kwakye’s waakye analogy, to Okudzeto Ablakwa’s building of airports in all 16 regions, to Sam George’s inability to explain the 24hr economy, to Kwaku Boahen’s selling of Akrantie 24hrs, to insults by Dr. Grace Ayensu and to rearing of lions, tigers and elephants for export—Clearly, the 24hr economy policy is a confused and poorly thought through policy”.

Nana Boakye declared that the NDC’s lack of substantive policies and clear direction makes it a hollow and frightening alternative to the ruling NPP, implying that their inability to articulate a coherent vision for the country’s future is a cause for concern.
