The National Democratic Congress (NDC) General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, has underscored the importance of former President John Dramani Mahama’s visionary 24-hour economy policy proposal.

The transformative initiative according to Mr Kwetey promises to invigorate Ghana’s economy by promoting continuous economic activity, thereby fostering innovation, creating jobs, and enhancing Ghana’s global competitiveness.

“Imagine a Ghana where economic activity never sleeps, where businesses thrive, and opportunities flourish day and night. That’s the inspiring vision of HE John Mahama’s visionary 24-hour economy policy—a blueprint for prosperity and progress”.

Mr Kwetey further noted that the essence of the 24-hour economy is simple yet revolutionary, as it seeks to create an environment where economic growth never pauses.

He emphasized that the policy transcends the traditional notion of merely extending business hours as it envisions a dynamic ecosystem where shops, factories, and offices shall be bustling with activity round the clock, providing a consistent flow of opportunities for all Ghanaians.

Addressing Ghana’s Economic Challenges

Amidst the perceived mounting challenges such as high unemployment rates and stagnant growth, the opposition party’s General Secretary posited that the 24-hour economy policy presents a tangible solution to address such issues when the party wins the December 7 polls.

He noted that by encouraging continuous economic activity, the 24-hour economy policy would directly address such issues, providing a robust framework for sustained economic development.

Touching on the various incentives that the National Democratic Congress flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama will roll out when elected into office to drive the 24-hour economy policy, Mr Kwetey outlined several incentives including the provision of enhanced security and public safety measures.

He emphasized that ensuring a safe and secure environment is paramount for businesses to operate around the clock, stressing that enhanced security measures will attract investment and foster growth, making round-the-clock economic activity viable and appealing.

Furthermore, the former Member of Parliament for Ketu South Constituency in the Volta Region stated that former President John Dramani Mahama would provide access to affordable, reliable electricity as part of the implementation of the 24-hour economy policy.

Moreover, Mr Kwetey underscored former President John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to provide attractive tax incentives to businesses that would operate under the 24-hour economy policy.

Here, Mr Kwetey also emphasized that offering tax breaks to companies that embrace the 24-hour economy will spur innovation and investment.

In addition, Honorable Fifi Fiavi Kwetey asserted that former President John Dramani Mahama under the 24-hour economy policy would provide financial assistance to key industries to stimulate growth and boost production.

He added that such targeted support is crucial for driving the economy forward, ensuring that critical sectors receive the necessary resources to thrive.

The National Democratic Congress General Secretary concluded his remarks by emphasizing that the 24-hour economy policy is not just a vision, but a practical blueprint for a brighter future for Ghana’s development trajectory.

He stressed that former President John Dramani Mahama’s bold vision of the 24-hour economy policy coupled with his exemplary leadership seeks to unlock Ghana’s full economic potential, ensuring that prosperity for all citizens knows no bounds.

Mr Kwetey in a fervent call to action, underscored that the 24-hour economy policy is a call to action for all Ghanaians, adding that it is an invitation to embrace change, seize new opportunities, and work towards building a future of limitless prosperity.

He emphasized that with comprehensive strategies in place to enhance security, reduce energy costs, offer tax incentives, and provide targeted financial support, the 24-hour economy policy will lay the foundation for sustained economic growth for Ghana.
