MIB Discloses The Spirituality of Music to Listeners

MIB

Ghanaian artist, Bismark Paapa Amponsah, popularly known as MIB in the entertainment industry has revealed the spirituality of music to individuals or listeners.

According to MIB, music grows and transforms because it is dynamic.

“Well I can’t speak for anyone because we’re all different individually as artists and music listeners. Music is everything. Music is change.

“I believe that as an artist or lyricist, you should be able to connect with your audience and touch their soul with your lyrics. Your audience might be a happy one, a sad one and so on.”

MIB

Bismark added his voice to the growing concern that the majority of Ghanaian songs lack spiritual value, focusing instead on materialism and superficial themes.

The artist believes in writing good lyrics as an artist and he thinks artists have lost that vital aspect as Ghanaians when it comes to music.

“But that been said, good music production also plays a vital role, the music agencies and institutions also play a part. So it’s actually a very big issue in our entertainment industry here in Ghana.

“Marketing wise, music auditoriums for live shows, connects with international music agencies, institutions and others. We are way behind as Ghanaians when it comes to entertainment, not only in the music industry.”

MIB

Talking about what can be done for up-and-coming artists to produce good lyrics since several artists produce songs which is money related more than songs that are related to audiences, he revealed that it is a generational thing, adding that nothing can be done about it.

“The youth in music and entertainment will realize that there is the need for quality entertainment as compared to producing anything which can’t stand the test of time. I remember a few years back in the early 2000s, no music in West Africa could beat or be compared to Ghana music.

“We held that hallmark all the way through to the 2016s. Then we started dwindling as an industry, working against ourselves. ‘Each one for himself, God for us all’, that’s the attitude that crushed the whole industry.”

MIB

In the ongoing debate that Nigerians are doing better in the entertainment industry than Ghanaians, MIB noted that Nigerians help themselves to gain popularity and monetize it as a business, revealing that Ghanaians would only talk down on themselves.

“The same Ghanaian would only want to promote negative and bad news about you,” he added.

Artist Reveals Inspiration for Making Music

Bismark Paapa Amponsah, a student and music producer with a passion for Graphic designing and exploring new places, revealed his inspiration for making music.

He disclosed that he was exposed to all genres of music by his parents at an early age.

“I’m a curious and adventurous person who loves trying new tech and exploring my environment and learning about different cultures. When I’m not working, you can find me working in the music studio or surfing the web for new information.

“Well the music started as way back in Junior High School. My Dad loves reggae and high life, and my mom was into Soul music and Gospel music.”

MIB

The artist noted that he didn’t take music seriously until he got the motivation from his brother [Felix] and a friend [Gracious Tay] to do better for himself.

“They thought I was good and gifted musically after doing a Karaoke version of other musicians’ songs,” he said.

MIB stated that he has produced quite many songs within the ranges of 150 to 200 songs, some of which have been officially released and the others still being worked on.

“That’s actually an estimate though. It might be more. The number of songs out on streaming platforms a lot. I would say over 20 songs alone this year. My songs and other artists inclusive.”

MIB

Currently, MIB noted that he doesn’t have an internationally recognized hit song or “banger” but there are a few that have gained recognition in Accra.

“I worked on a project with E.Kuation, one of the fast-rising artists in Ghana right now. The song is titled ‘My Way’. Another song with Too Much of ‘Junka Town Movie’ fame titled ‘Anything’ and others,” he declared.

He asserted that he is working on a few collaborations this year with Ras Kuuku, RBL Yung Don, BigWave R$L, El Kartel, and other artists outside Ghana.

Moreover, he expressed that he would love to collaborate with A-list artists like King Promise, Kweku Smoke, Medikal, R2 Bees, and international artists like Roddy Ricch, Polo G, Joyner Lucas, and WizKid.

MIB revealed that his songs can be found on all streaming platforms, adding his social media handles, @mibgh, or @officialmib_gh on all platforms for his audience to keep up-to-date on his latest song releases and news feed.
