Jean-Michel Arlandis, the new Managing Director of Vivo Energy Ghana.

Vivo Energy Ghana, renowned for marketing and distributing Shell-branded fuels and lubricants, has recently announced the appointment of Jean-Michel Arlandis as its new Managing Director.  

This transition follows the end-of-term for the previous Managing Director, Kader Maiga. Franck Konan-Yahaut, the Executive Vice President of the West Region, highlighted that this leadership change signifies Vivo Energy’s dedication to enhancing its international operations and capitalizing on leadership capabilities to foster growth and innovation across its markets.

Franck Konan-Yahaut expressed his gratitude for Kader Maiga’s exceptional performance, which has been instrumental in establishing a solid team and a resilient business. Under Maiga’s stewardship, Vivo Energy Ghana experienced significant growth and reinforced its market position.

Jean-Michel Arlandis brings over 30 years of experience in the energy and retail sectors, with extensive knowledge of African and emerging markets. His impressive track record includes transforming Vivo Energy Malawi into one of the top-ranking oil marketing companies in the country. This achievement is a testament to his ability to drive business growth and foster a competitive market presence.

Before his tenure at Vivo Energy, Jean-Michel served in various high-profile roles, including Head of Internal Audit for Decathlon, a global sporting brand. He was also a Partner at Deloitte and Ernst & Young, and Head of Corporate at Everton Group, an international investment company in Africa. These roles have equipped him with a robust understanding of financial management, strategic planning, and corporate governance, all of which are crucial for his new role at Vivo Energy Ghana.

Building on Success

In 2017, Jean-Michel joined Vivo Energy Mauritius as Head of Finance, where he established a formidable finance team that significantly contributed to the company’s business growth. His success in Mauritius led to his transfer to Vivo Energy Ghana, where he continued to replicate his success by strengthening the finance team and supporting the company’s strategic objectives.

Upon his appointment, Jean-Michel commended his predecessor, Kader Maiga, for his exceptional leadership and the solid foundation he has built. He expressed his commitment to delivering exceptional value to customers and stakeholders, emphasizing a continuous drive for innovation and excellence. “Together, we will continue to provide innovative products and exceptional services to our customers and drive sustainable growth for our stakeholders,” he said.
