The Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs) is set to make a groundbreaking change this year by rewarding the Artiste of the Year with paid events.

Each year, the awards recognize outstanding achievements in various categories, including best male artiste, best female artiste, best group, and best song of the year, among others.

This year, the organizers of the awards have decided to take things a step further by offering the artiste of the year a series of paid events to perform at.

This new initiative is a game-changer for the music industry in Ghana, as it provides artists with a platform to reach new audiences and generate income from their performances.

The paid events will be carefully curated to ensure that the artiste of the year gets the exposure and recognition they deserve. They will be held in various cities and towns across Ghana, giving fans from different regions the chance to see their favorite artist perform live.

In addition to the paid events, the artiste of the year will also receive other perks, such as media coverage, promotional opportunities, and collaborations with other artists.

Speaking with the Vaultz News, fast-rising star currently under contract with Victorious Music Entertainment (VME), Stephen Annor Adjei, known professionally in the music fraternity as BADABOOM has revealed that this initiative by Charterhouse Productions Ltd to reward the Artist of the Year is a great way to recognize and appreciate the talents and hard work of artists.

He commended Charterhouse Productions Ltd for their new initiative.

“This initiative can also motivate other artists to strive for excellence and compete at their best level, knowing that there are tangible rewards for their efforts. It demonstrates a commitment to supporting and promoting talent, fostering a vibrant and dynamic music scene.”

The decision to reward the artiste of the year with paid events is a positive step towards supporting and promoting Ghanaian music.

It not only recognizes the talent and hard work of artists but also provides them with valuable opportunities to grow and succeed in the industry.

The Telecel Ghana Music Awards is set to be an exciting and unforgettable event this year, and fans can look forward to seeing their favorite artists shine on stage at the paid events.

Artist Admires Older Generation of Rappers for Their Distinct Sounds

The Ghanaian music industry has a rich history and has experienced significant growth and evolution over the years. In recent times, there has been a noticeable shift in the landscape of Ghanaian music, particularly in the rap genre.

The emergence of new-generation rappers in Ghana has brought about a wave of creativity and innovation to the music scene. These young artists are known for their unique lyrical content, delivery, and ability to connect with younger audiences.

They have embraced various sub-genres within rap music, such as trap, drill, and Afrobeat fusion, which have resonated well with both local and international listeners.

According to BADABOOM, comparing the talents of the new generation rappers to the old generation rappers in Ghana, it is essential to consider various factors, adding that the older generation of rappers laid the foundation for the current success of Ghanaian rap music.

He cited artists like Reggie Rockstone, Lord Kenya, Obrafour, and others who paved the way for future generations by establishing a distinct sound and style that reflected Ghanaian culture and identity.

“The new generation of rappers took inspiration from our predecessors and incorporated modern influences from global hip-hop trends. As technology advances and access to digital platforms increases, artists have more opportunities to showcase their talent and reach a wider audience.”

BADABOOM

However, comparing the olden days of making music to modern days, BADABOOM disclosed that the modern era offers potentially higher earning opportunities for musicians due to diverse revenue streams such as streaming royalties, licensing deals, brand partnerships, merchandise sales, and concert tours.
