APC Campaign Trail, Ayariga Seeks Bawku Overlord’s Blessing

Dr. Hassan Ayariga, APC Presidential Candidate

Hassan Ayariga, APC’s Presidential candidate, has asserted that the underwhelming performance of the two dominant parties, NPP and NDC, underscores the urgent need for a viable alternative, paving the way for a third force to emerge and transform Ghana’s political landscape.

Mr. Ayariga observed that many Ghanaians are clamoring for an alternative political movement and a dynamic leader who can break the status quo, steering the country towards a brighter future and unlocking its full potential.

He confidently declared that he is the catalyst for change, poised to shatter the longstanding grip of the NDC and NPP on Ghana’s politics and usher in a new era of leadership and governance.

ACEP Calls on Media to Step Up Accountability as Ghana Risks Losing Billions to Waste

“Why do I think that I can break the duopoly? Look at the situation in our country. In education, the strategic plan is making sure that we change the curriculum of our education. Currently, the kind of educational curriculum we have is just to train our students to become graduates without being focused on what we should be doing after training”.

“We are producing avoidable graduates instead of absorbable graduates. What kind of curriculum are we using? Is it the Nkrumah style of training our students to write English, and pass their exams and they cannot be productive in society and they become a burden to society”.

Hassan Ayariga

He further noted that, alarmingly, many new graduates today are focused on seeking employment rather than leveraging their skills and creativity to innovate and create their own job opportunities.

Mr. Ayariga attributed the shortcomings in Ghana’s educational curriculum to a fundamental lack of strategic planning, emphasizing that the country’s absence of a comprehensive national data system and a cohesive national development framework are significant contributing factors.

He emphasized that national development planning is crucial, as it can be integrated into the educational system, enabling the government to strategically identify and invest in key sectors that will drive growth and progress.

Ayariga stressed that students should be trained with a focus on the country’s future requirements, ensuring they acquire relevant skills to thrive and make a positive impact, rather than merely attending school without a clear direction.

He noted that attending school without a clear direction can lead to graduates becoming unproductive and dependent on society.

APC Vows To Reform Education System

Furthermore, Hassan Ayariga announced that the APC plans to revolutionize the education system by overhauling the curriculum and implementing a comprehensive national plan, aimed at empowering students to graduate with a clear sense of purpose and direction.

He pointed out that this comprehensive approach will address the pressing issues of unemployment and mismatches between graduates’ skills and job requirements, where many find themselves searching for roles they are not adequately prepared for.

The APC leader announced plans to combat unemployment by establishing a network of job centers across the country, leveraging a national data system that connects job seekers with potential employers.

He noted this will streamline the recruitment process and foster employment opportunities.

He further emphasized the crucial role of taxation in driving development, pointing out that Ghana’s current taxation system is inadequate and in need of reform to effectively mobilize resources for national growth and progress.

“What we need to do is to make sure that every company and institution in this county pays tax. It doesn’t matter whether you are a new company or an old company. Because over the years, people evade taxes based on the fact that they are opening new businesses”.

“So our system is that, if you evade tax, you’ll go to jail [or] your company would be closed down. We are going to design a special tax system”.

Hassan Ayariga

Ayariga pointed out that the APC’s national data system will create a foolproof mechanism for tax collection, leaving no room for tax evasion by any entity or individual, thereby ensuring a fair and equitable distribution of tax burdens.

He assured that under the APC’s leadership, tax revenues will be judiciously utilized to fund critical social infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, and roads, thereby driving meaningful development and progress in Ghana.

Most importantly, Mr. Ayariga indicated that resources under an APC government will not go to corruption and wastage as is currently the case.
