Franklin Cudjoe on galamsey menace

Franklin Cudjoe, IMANI Africa

Franklin Cudjoe, President of IMANI Africa, emphasizes that critical issues such as the state of the economy, job creation, excessive taxation, and high-level corruption, including state capture, should be paramount considerations in the upcoming elections.

Franklin Cudjoe emphasized that politicians must be held accountable for prioritizing environmental sustainability and responsible management of natural resources, particularly in addressing the devastating impact of galamsey (illegal mining) on the environment.

He emphasized that politicians must be held accountable for their roles in illegal land expropriation, as well as the hasty and opaque push for Lithium deals, which undermine responsible resource management and environmental protection.

“Optimizing Salt (ElectroChem Company must be supported and guided to help lead Ghana and Africa’s salt hegemony but make sure locals benefit from salt ). Decentralized power (fiscal and political), end capricious legislative decisions with far-reaching economic consequences (such as the Siren and no speed limits for MPs, the Cement pricing and tax exemptions regime)”.

Franklin Cudjoe

Franklin Cudjoe further emphasized that Ghanaians must advocate for a thoughtful and balanced approach to promoting local content policies, one that harmonizes national interests with international best practices and ensures sustainable economic growth.

He championed the need for a country that prioritizes productivity-enhancing education, alongside robust technical and vocational skills development programs, to equip citizens with the expertise required to drive innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth.

Franklin Cudjoe urged voters to demand high-quality healthcare services through effective public-private sector partnerships, ensuring accessible, affordable, and efficient healthcare delivery that meets the needs of all citizens.

He emphasized that the Agenda 111 hospital project should adopt a hybrid investment model, with a ratio of 70% private sector participation and 30% public sector involvement, ensuring transparent management and oversight to guarantee accountability and optimal healthcare delivery.

According to Franklin Cudjoe, Ghanaians must prioritize electing leaders who demonstrate integrity, humility, and accountability, by being truthful, recognizing merit, adopting pragmatic approaches, and taking ownership of their mistakes while providing clear solutions to address them.

Given the current state of the nation, he emphasized that the most critical factor in selecting the next leader should be their ability to effectively manage and revitalize the economy.

Jobs, Roads, Economy Top Voters Demands

Mussa Dankwah, Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, identified jobs, road construction, and economic development as the three pivotal issues that will shape voter decisions in the Hohoe constituency of the Volta region.

Dankwah noted that it is surprising to see roads as the second most important issue, as typically, voters prioritize the economy above all else, indicating a possible shift in voter concerns.

VOTERS

He pointed out that, nationally, the economy tends to be the top consideration for voters when casting their ballots, and is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping their decisions in the forthcoming election.

Meanwhile, the NPP has promised to secure economic prosperity for Ghanaians if re-elected, highlighting that despite current challenges, Ghana’s economic performance under their leadership has been more impressive than under previous administrations.

Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Communications Director for Dr. Bawumia’s campaign team, appealed to the public to elect Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as their leader, promising a truthful and responsible administration that will put the nation’s interests first.

“[The gold refinery is] First in the country’s history as we chart a new course towards building economic resilience. Vote against the former President, he has no plan for our dear country. We are covering every space and every corner of this country as we engage the Ghanaian voter with our Bold solutions for Ghana’s next chapter”.

Dennis Miracles Aboagye

Aboagye cited the newly inaugurated gold refinery by the government as a prime example of the innovative initiatives that a Dr. Bawumia-led NPP government will implement to provide economic relief and stimulate growth.
