The Kosmos Innovation Centre (KIC) is set to host the second edition of the Agricultural Innovation for Africa (AIA) Conference on August 28 and 29, 2024, at the University of Professional Studies, Accra.
This year’s conference, under the theme “Empowering Youth Startups and Agri-MSMEs in Africa: Addressing Climate Change, Innovative Financing, Market Efficiency, and Gender Mainstreaming for Sustainable Food Systems,” aims to provide a platform for meaningful discussions on how to engage and empower young people within Africa’s agricultural value chain.
The AIA Conference is more than just an event; it is a call to action for stakeholders across the agricultural sector to collaborate and create inclusive pathways that support youth startups, agri-MSMEs, and entrepreneurs. The focus of the conference is on climate resilience, innovative financing, market linkages, and gender mainstreaming—key areas that are critical for driving sustainable food systems in Africa.

These stakeholders will engage in interactive panel sessions designed to inspire thought-provoking conversations on sustainable and innovative practices that can elevate Africa’s agricultural potential.
Focus on Climate Resilience and Market Efficiency
One of the key themes of the AIA Conference is climate resilience. With the increasing impacts of climate change on agriculture, there is a growing need for innovative solutions that can help farmers and agri-businesses adapt and thrive. The Youth Career Fair, organized in collaboration with Jobberman Ghana and in partnership with the MasterCard Foundation and Agri-Impact Limited, will provide employability skills training for young people and link job seekers to employers within the agriculture and adjacent sectors.
