The Running Mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, is set to begin a three-day campaign tour of the Western Region starting Tuesday, September 3rd 2024.

The Spokesperson to the NDC’s Vice Presidential Candidate, James Agyenim-Boateng, in a statement, pointed out that the tour forms a crucial part of the opposition party’s strategy to secure significant gains in constituencies currently held by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as the December 7th general elections approach.

“The three-day campaign tour will focus on constituencies where the NDC does not have a sitting Member of Parliament at the moment”, the statement read.

According to Agyenim-Boateng, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s first stop will be in the Tarkwa Nsuaem constituency, a key area with a significant population of miners and traders, where she is expected to engage with the electorates and outline the NDC’s vision for economic rejuvenation and social inclusion.

Following her visit to Tarkwa Nsuaem, Agyening-Boateng indicated that Prof. Opoku-Agyemang will move through Ahanta West and Mpohor constituencies, where she plans to interact directly with market women, traders, commercial drivers, and other key voter demographics.

Here, the Spokesperson to the NDC’s Vice Presidential Candidate, James Agyenim-Boateng emphasized that Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s engagements will likely focus on the NDC’s commitment to improving local economies, providing job opportunities, and enhancing infrastructure.

James Agyening-Boateng further stated that Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s tour will continue with stops in Shama, Essikado-Ketan, Sekondi, Takoradi, Effia, and Kwesimintsim constituencies.

These areas according to Agyenim-Boateng are considered battlegrounds for both major political parties, and Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s presence is expected to energize the NDC base while also attempting to sway undecided voters.

He emphasized that throughout the tour, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang will focus on addressing the immediate concerns of the residents, including the rising cost of living, access to quality healthcare, and education, and the need for sustainable development in the Western Region.

The Spokesperson to the NDC’s Vice Presidential Candidate, James Agyenim-Boateng in conclusion, indicated that the campaign will culminate on Thursday with a final rally and series of engagements, underscoring the NDC’s aim to solidify its message of change and development.

He emphasized the importance of the Western Region in the party’s electoral strategy.

Meanwhile, former President John Dramani Mahama, the flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has commenced a four-day campaign tour of the Bono East Region starting Monday.

The tour is part of his #Mahama4Change2024 campaign, aiming to engage with constituents, present his vision for the future, and promote the NDC’s “Resetting Ghana” manifesto ahead of the 2024 general elections.

He commenced the tour in the Kintampo North Constituency on Monday, September, 2nd 2024, where the NDC’s flagbearer interacted with local party officials, traditional leaders, and the general populace in the region.

Over the next three days, former President Mahama is expected to traverse all eleven constituencies in the Bono East Region, including Kintampo South, Nkoranza North, Nkoranza South, Techiman North, Techiman South, and others.

Joyce Bawah Mogtari, the Special Aide and Campaign Spokesperson to former President John Dramani Mahama in an earlier statement, pointed out that the campaign is designed for former President Mahama to connect with Ghanaians across the country, presenting a comprehensive outline of the NDC’s plans to reset Ghana’s trajectory.

She emphasized that through the tour, former President Mahama will elaborate on the key themes of the NDC’s manifesto, which focuses on economic recovery, job creation, education, healthcare, and infrastructure development.

According to Joyce Bawah Mogtari, following the conclusion of the Bono East tour, former President John Dramani will move to the Bono Region, where he will continue his grassroots engagements.

Joyce Bawah Mogtari, the spokesperson for the campaign, emphasized the significance of these regional tours.
