Iconic Gospel songstress, Empress Gifty has shared insights on what she has learned from her marriage following the end of her previous relationship with her former husband, Prophet Elisha Osei.

The singer, who is now married to prominent New Patriotic Party [NPP] member, Hopeson Adorye, revealed that she has embraced the importance of being submissive in marriage.

Reflecting on what she has learned from being a divorcee while speaking, the controversial gospel songstress said: “I have learned how to forgive… I have learned how not to insult your husband, even when you are right … I have learned how to keep quiet and I have learned how to pamper a man because that is all they want.”

She also highlighted the importance of respecting privacy in marriage.

“I don’t take marriage personally. You become a nagging wife if you take it personally. When I call my husband, I don’t immediately ask him where he is. The first thing I do is to find out he is okay. I don’t invade his freedom and privacy, and it is working for me.”

The Gospel sensation also challenged the stigma surrounding divorce, asserting that it’s not a curse but a natural phase of life.

Empress Gifty shared her insight that divorce is not a curse as presumed but a transition of life. “It was a tough decision. Always going to church and all of a sudden you have to stop, you have to sit home and you have memories…but I had the right people around me,” she said

“When you divorce and you don’t have the right people around you, you would lose focus… So my mother and my aunty, Mama G were there to support me. In our world now, when you go into a divorce it’s like a curse, but you see, it’s a transition of life.. It’s something bound to happen.”

The award-winning songstress explained that she has two daughters with her ex-husband. She stressed that they were 5 and 3 years old when they divorced but they are 16 and 14 years now.

Empress Gifty who is known for monster hit songs like ‘Aseda’, ‘Adom’, ‘Ayeyi’, and ‘Kamafo’, is currently making waves with her latest song, “Watch Me.” The song that has gained significant popularity was written by Highlife star Kuami Eugene.

Empress Gifty disclosed that she was offered the role of host for United Showbiz on United Television (UTV) following the departure of actress Nana Ama McBrown.

The gospel music icon shared that the Managing Director of Despite Media, Fadda Dickson, and General Manager, Kennedy Osei, extended the offer.

However, she declined due to business ventures. “When McBrown left, I was approached to host United Showbiz, but because of my consistent travels, I declined the offer, and management understood me,” she explained, adding, “I barely stayed in the country then. I believe when the time is right, God will make it work.”

Empress Gifty further revealed that she is now a full-time employee of Despite Media, receiving a monthly salary, and currently hosts the U-Cook show, aired on Sundays on UTV.

Interestingly, she has recently taken on the role of interim host for United Showbiz in MzGee’s absence, a move that has sparked mixed reactions on social media.

In other news, Empress Gifty opened up about her upbringing, disclosing that she never knew her biological father.

According to her, she was raised by her stepfather as she never met her biological father whose name she mentioned as Andoh. “I don’t know my father… I didn’t see my dad… He is dead,” Empress Gifty stated.

Despite not knowing her biological father, she expressed gratitude for the love and care she received from her stepfather.
