Hezbollah has launched massive rocket attacks on northern Israel that wounded at least 13 people.

Air defences and warning sirens were activated in dozens of towns in northern Israel on the border with Lebanon as interceptor missiles exploded in the air due to rocket attacks.

Sirens also sounded in the city of Haifa and its bay as rockets were launched towards it.

Hezbollah announced that it fired rockets towards an Israeli military base north of Israel’s Haifa in response to Israeli attacks on its strongholds in southern Lebanon.

According to an Israeli news agency, at least nine people were injured in northern Israel amid the Hezbollah attack on the Haifa area and western Galilee.

It disclosed that a 28-year-old was left in “ light-to-moderate condition after being hit by shrapnel” after a home was hit in Kiryat Ata and a man and women in their forties were treated by Israel’s Magen David Adom emergency services.

It also reported that “in a separate rocket impact on a road in the western Galilee, MDA says four people were wounded, including a man in his 30s in moderate condition after being hit by shrapnel, and three others who were lightly hurt by the blast.”

Hezbollah said that it also carried out attacks on Safad, Philon base in Rosh Pina (east of Safad), Krayot (north of Haifa), Shlomi settlement, Al-Bassa settlement, Military base in Nesher, Settlement of Kiryat Shmona as well as a group of Israeli soldiers at the al-Marj site and in the settlement of Zarit.

Drone Hits Netanyahu’s Home

Israeli soldiers walk along a street leading to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence in Caesarea following reports that a drone was launched towards his residence.

A drone hit Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu‘s holiday home in the country’s north, triggering air raid sirens across Israel, including the main city of Tel Aviv.

Netanyahu’s spokesman said that one of three drones launched from Lebanon hit Netanyahu’s residence in the town of Caesarea on Saturday, October 19, 2024.

The Spokesperson added that Netanyahu was not in the vicinity and there were no casualties.

The two other drones were intercepted, the Israeli military said, adding that a total of more than 100 rockets were fired across northern Israel from Lebanon, killing one person and injuring at least 13 others.

According to a reporter, the fact that a drone was able to go undetected 70km from the Lebanese border, no sirens went off, and it struck the intended target, has caused a lot of concern in Israel and in the Israeli security establishment.

The reporter said that “a large volley of rockets” from Lebanon were used as decoys to launch the drone attack on Netanyahu’s house.

Sirens were activated across northern Israel, including the cities of Galilee and Haifa.

Haifa is the largest city in northern Israel and is seen as a strategic port city that is home to 300,000 people and the country’s naval headquarters.

The reporter added that the sirens went off just right after they got confirmation that a drone attack actually succeeded in targeting and striking the house of the Israeli Prime Minister in Caesarea.

Meanwhile, an Israeli security source was quoted as saying by Israeli Army Radio that Israeli security services see the drone attack in Caesarea as a very serious security failure and an investigation has been launched into the security breaches.

Hours after his residence in Caesarea was targeted by a drone, Netanyahu promised in a video post that “nothing will deter” him, claiming that his country is “going to win this war.”
