Speaking at her final campaign rally in Philadelphia before the November 5 Elections commence, Vice President Kamala Harris cautioned her supporters not to be complacent.

She said that her team was “optimistic and excited” but urged voters to make their voices heard, saying Pennsylvania could “decide the outcome” of the election.

“The race ain’t over yet, and we must finish strong. This could be one of the closest races in history. Every single vote matters. With only a few hours left, we still have work to do, and as you’ve heard me say before, we like hard work.”

Harris reiterated several campaign promises, such as lowering the cost of living, housing, childcare, elderly home care, and taxes for workers and small businesses.

She also vowed to pass a bill to restore reproductive freedoms after the rolling back of Roe v. Wade.

She sought to contrast herself with Donald Trump by using several familiar refrains such as promising a seat at the table to those who disagree with her, compared to the former president’s often vehement rhetoric against his political opponents.

“We started this campaign 107 days ago. From the beginning, ours has not been a fight against something, it has been a fight for something. A fight for a future with freedom, with opportunity, and with dignity for all Americans.

“Tonight, we finish as we started — with optimism, with energy, with joy, knowing that we the people have the power to shape our future, and that we can confront any challenge we face when we do it together.”

Harris made the key battleground of Pennsylvania her priority on her final campaign with several stops across the state culminating in her final one in the state’s largest city.

On the other hand, Trump, at his final rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan, predicted a large victory in the election.

This followed a tirade of familiar, false claims about widespread voter fraud and undocumented immigrants voting in elections. “If we get out our people, it’s over, there’s nothing they can do about it,” he said, adding “to make you feel a little guilty, we would only have you to blame.”

“They have to cheat, and they do, and they do it very well actually. And I think we’re in very good shape. You show up, and you’re going to have the biggest victory. You know what this will be? The single greatest victory, politically speaking, in the history of our country.”

Trump suggested that he survived an assassination attempt earlier this year because God had a plan to make him President again.

“Just a few months ago in a beautiful field in Pennsylvania, an assassin tried to stop our great movement, the greatest movement in history.

“But that brush with death did not stop us, by any means. It only made us more determined to finish the job that we had only just started. That was not a pleasant day, I will tell you, that was not a pleasant day. But many people say that God saved me in order to save America.”

Pennsylvania To “Almost Definitely” Determine Next President

On Harris choosing to spend her final day of campaigning focusing on the swing state of Pennsylvania, Democratic strategist Anish Mohanty said, “I think if Kamala Harris loses Pennsylvania, she would need to win North Carolina and Georgia to make up that ground.”

Mohanty added, “So whoever wins Pennsylvania will almost definitely be the next president of the United States.”

Mohanty told a news agency that Harris has made her case for President as “effectively as possible” after becoming the Democratic nominee just 107 days before the election.

“She really has energised the Democratic base, including people of colour, young people, people that the Biden campaign was bleeding out before Kamala entered the race as the nominee.

“Obviously, there’s ways that she could have appealed to more people, but she is trying to deliver a message of unity and to make the case that we are united in this.”
