President John Mahama's 120-day assessment.

President John Dramani Mahama

Joyce Bawah Mogtari, the spokesperson for the NDC flagbearer, has confidently asserted that John Dramani Mahama stands as Ghana’s most experienced politician.

She emphasized that in the upcoming elections, both Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are poised for a decisive victory.

According to her, the NDC is expected to secure the presidency, achieve a commanding majority in Parliament, and take on the responsibility of forming the next government to lead the nation.

“At the time of Mahama’s exit from office in 2016, he handed over a peaceful and stable country, he delivered a sound economy marked by a sustainable public debt-to-GDP ratio of 55.6%.

“[He delivered] a stable credit rating of B-, a low budget deficit of 6.1%, a declining inflation rate hovering around 15%, and a stable currency with a depreciation rate of 9%”.

Joyce Bawah further highlighted the achievements of former President John Dramani Mahama, noting that during his tenure, he successfully managed to deliver a relatively low single-digit unemployment rate of approximately 8.4%.

She also emphasized that under his leadership, Ghana’s economic prospects were highly promising, with various international rating agencies projecting robust growth of over 8% for the economy in 2017.

These accomplishments, she suggested, reflect Mahama’s competence and vision in steering the country’s development.

The NDC communicator further emphasized that one of the most significant achievements of John Dramani Mahama’s tenure was his decisive approach to addressing the power crisis, commonly known as dumsor.

She pointed out that while the crisis posed a severe challenge to the nation, Mahama demonstrated strong leadership and commitment by implementing sustainable measures to resolve it.

According to her, his efforts not only stabilized the power supply but also laid the foundation for improved energy reliability in Ghana, showcasing his ability to tackle complex national issues effectively.

Bawah Highlights Mahama’s Legacy, Urges Support for NDC

Furthermore, Joyce Bawah Mogtari highlighted the remarkable strides made under John Dramani Mahama’s leadership, particularly in the areas of industrialization and infrastructure development.

She noted that his government initiated and completed numerous transformative projects, including roads, schools, hospitals, and other critical infrastructure that significantly improved the lives of Ghanaians.

These achievements, she explained, earned Mahama the affectionate title of “Nation Builder,” a testament to his dedication to advancing Ghana’s development and creating a solid foundation for future growth.

“He left behind a better record of corruption, a better record for media freedoms and human rights, and left behind a public debt of 120 billion Ghana cedis and Ghana had no challenges or difficulties with servicing its external debts.

“The currency was stable at 4:6 Cedis to the Dollar. Do well to vote for John Mahama and an NDC Parliamentary”.

Accordingly, the NDC stalwart passionately appealed to voters to make a thoughtful and informed decision when they cast their ballots.

She urged them to reflect deeply, especially in the privacy of the polling booth, and choose wisely by voting for the NDC and John Mahama.

She emphasized the importance of voting for a leader who embodies honesty, credibility, and trustworthiness—qualities essential for steering the nation toward progress.

She encouraged citizens to prioritize a leader who speaks the truth and genuinely cares about the welfare of the people, reminding them that their choice will significantly impact Ghana’s future. “Please make sure to vote for Change”.

She also noted that as the 7th December election approaches, the NDC is intensifying its efforts and entering the final stretch of its campaign with determination and focus.

She emphasized that the party is committed to finishing strong, engaging voters across the country, and passionately advocating for change.

According to her, the NDC remains resolute in its mission to present itself as the best alternative to address the challenges facing Ghana and to restore hope and progress through visionary leadership and transformative policies.
