President John Mahama's 120-day assessment.

President John Dramani Mahama

Franklin Cudjoe, President of IMANI Africa, has urged President-elect John Mahama to exercise sound judgment in assembling his cabinet.

He emphasized the importance of selecting competent individuals to lead various sectors of government.

“…John Mahama will be taking the oath of office on January 7, 2025, two weeks before Trump. Unlike Trump, Mahama has a shorter time to name his key cabinet, but he must have a fair idea of who must be members of his efficient delivery unit.

“The people are eager to receive feedback because he has enormous goodwill to undo the gravest damage ever [supervised] by Addo Dankwa”.

Franklin Cudjoe

Cudjoe further noted that while the outgoing administration led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo faced widespread criticism, not all its appointments were flawed.

He acknowledged that a few professional appointments, particularly within the Police Service and economically significant state-owned enterprises, stood out as commendable examples.

According to Cudjoe, these appointments should serve as a benchmark for Mahama in ensuring that his cabinet choices are based on merit and expertise to promote effective governance.

He observed that John Mahama possesses a unique ability to identify and recognize exceptional individuals with the skills and expertise needed to drive national progress.

According to Cudjoe, this gift of discernment positions Mahama to assemble a team of rare talents who can contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s development.

He emphasized that harnessing the capabilities of such individuals and placing them in strategic roles would be crucial in addressing the nation’s challenges and advancing its socio-economic growth.

Cudjoe emphasized that the President-elect has a limited four-year mandate, but within that time, it is entirely possible to lay the foundation for transformative change and restore Ghana to a path of greatness.

He highlighted that with visionary leadership, strategic planning, and a dedicated team of competent individuals, the new administration can achieve significant milestones in governance, economic growth, and social development.

Cudjoe further stressed that focusing on impactful policies and prioritizing the well-being of Ghanaians would not only inspire public confidence but also set the stage for a prosperous and united nation.
