Peeps React After Amakye Dede Almost Fainted On Stage

Legendary Ghanaian highlife musician, Amakye Dede, recently gave fans a scare during his live performance in Kumasi.

The veteran artist, who has been a prominent figure in Ghana’s music industry for decades, appeared to struggle physically while on stage.

Midway through his performance, the musician began to wobble, sparking concern among attendees.

Video footage from the event captured the heart-stopping moment when Amakye Dede seemed on the verge of collapsing.

He had to be supported and led off stage by his team, prompting mixed reactions from fans and the public.

His fans expressed worry, suggesting he may need to step back from active performances to focus on his health.

Social media platforms were flooded with comments from fans, many of whom suggested that the celebrated musician deserves a peaceful retirement after years of entertaining audiences.

One netizen remarked, “Amakye Dede has done enough for Ghanaian music. He should be resting and enjoying his pension rather than pushing himself this hard.” 

Another added, “It’s admirable that he’s still performing, but his health should come first.”

“He is not fit. Also, they are supposed to let him sit and perform not stand. Get well soon, because I’m booking you for my wedding soon 😍😍😍.”

Amakye Dede, often referred to as “Iron Boy,” has carved an unparalleled legacy in Ghana’s music scene, delivering timeless hits that have stood the test of time.

Known for his energetic stagecraft and powerful voice, he remains an inspiration to both his fans and the younger generation of artists.

Amakye Dede’s Management Reveals Cause Of Poor Performance

The management team of Legendary musician Amakye Dede issued an official statement revealing that a road accident was the reason for his poor performance in Kumasi.

According to the statement, the accident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, as Amakye Dede and his team were traveling from Takoradi City Mall to Agona Swedru for their next show.

“It is with great concern that we inform our cherished fans, partners, and the general public about an unfortunate accident involving the legendary Amakye Dede and his team in the early hours of Sunday, December 29, 2024, at approximately 1:50 AM. The incident occurred during their journey from Takoradi, following a successful performance at the Takoradi City Mall, to Agona Swedru for their next scheduled show.”

The management disclosed that the unfortunate incident took place between Apam and Winneba.

Amakye Dede and his team were immediately rushed to the Winneba Hospital, where they received first aid treatment from 2:00 AM to 6:00 AM.

Despite the physical toll of the incident, Amakye Dede demonstrated remarkable dedication to his fans by traveling to Kumasi later that morning for a scheduled performance.

However, due to the strain from the ordeal, he was unable to perform as planned, and his incredible band stepped in to deliver a memorable performance on his behalf.

The vehicle involved in the accident was identified as a V8, which was carrying Amakye Dede and his management team.

The further apologized for the inconvenience caused and promised to return stronger.

“We deeply regret the impact this has had on our cherished fans, particularly those in Kumasi, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. Your understanding, patience, and unwavering support during this difficult time mean everything to us.

“We thank you for your prayers and love and ask for a few days to fully recover. We promise to return stronger, energized, and ready to deliver the legendary performances you know and love. Thank you for standing with us.”
