Ghanaian dancehall artist, Stonebwoy has opened up about the pivotal moments in his rise to fame.

The Bhim Nation leader shared how key figures in the music industry recognized his talent and helped shape his career.

Stonebwoy recounted how his journey began during his third year of senior high school when he first crossed paths with Samini, a renowned Ghanaian artist and mentor to many.

“I was just a schoolboy, trying to balance my education with my love for music. Meeting Samini was a turning point. He saw something in me and welcomed me into his camp. That moment changed my life forever.”

Stonebwoy

Before this fateful meeting, Stonebwoy had also garnered the attention of Afro Moses and producer Quick Action, who were instrumental in laying the foundation for his success.

“Afro Moses and Quick Action were among the first to believe in me. They recognized my potential and gave me opportunities that not only boosted my confidence but also opened doors in the industry.”

Stonebwoy

Stonebwoy credits these early encounters with helping him find his footing in a competitive music scene. However, it was Samini’s mentorship that marked the beginning of his ascent to stardom.

“Samini didn’t just offer me support; he brought me into his world and gave me a platform to grow. That’s something I’ll always be grateful for.”

Reflecting on their past disagreements, Stonebwoy expressed relief and happiness that he and Samini have reconciled.

“We’ve had our misunderstandings, but I’m glad we’ve moved past that. Sometimes, social media, especially Twitter, fuels unnecessary conflicts. At the end of the day, the respect and bond we share as brothers in music will always prevail.”

Stonebwoy Delves Deeper Into Career

MC Portfolio and Stonebwoy

Stonebwoy set the record straight, addressing a long-standing misconception in the Ghanaian music scene.

The ‘Nominate’ hitmaker took the opportunity to clarify that his journey in professional music began back in 2009.

“For years, people have acted like I just appeared out of nowhere,” Stonebwoy shared, frustration in his voice.“But I’ve been here since 2009, putting in the work, and that deserves recognition.”

Despite his sustained presence and continuous contributions to the music industry, Stonebwoy has often found himself combating the narrative that he only rose to prominence in the last few years.

As he delved deeper into his career, Stonebwoy explained how he’s managed to maintain a steady path through the ups and downs of the industry.

“A lot of people in this field often get caught up in the sentiment and drama,” he said, referring to the sycophantic behaviors and politically driven commentary that flood the industry.

“But that’s not my approach. I’ve always focused on authenticity and staying true to my music.”

Stonebwoy

A key part of his strategy, Stonebwoy revealed, was forming a partnership with MC Portfolio, whose honest and unbiased commentary aligned with his own values.

“I saw in MC Portfolio what I’ve always believed the industry needs: someone who speaks the truth, no matter the side they’re on. He’s not swayed by politics or popularity, just facts, and that’s what I respect about him.”

Stonebwoy

Stonebwoy shared that it was Portfolio’s distinct perspective that caught his attention, prompting him to bring him into his team.

“MC Portfolio stood out to me because of how he speaks the truth, no matter the side he’s on. He doesn’t sugarcoat things or get caught up in the emotional or political drama that often clouds the industry.

“When I first heard him, I knew he was someone I could work with. His commentary was different, and that’s why I decided to bring him on board.”

Samini Calls for Peace

Ghanaian musician, Samini weighed in on the tense feud between Stonebwoy and his protégé Kelvyn Boy, who was signed to his record label.

In 2019, Stonebwoy severed ties with Kelvyn boy, pointing out several issues, including the latter’s character, that inhibited them from working together.

In a recent interview, Stonebwoy was asked whether he would reconcile with Kelvyn Boy, who claims to have been calling for peace for the past five years.

The ‘Jejereje’ hitmaker rejected the idea and explained why accepting Kelvyn Boy back into his fold would be impossible.

Stonebwoy’s accusation forced the ‘Down Flat’ hitmaker to call the Bhim Nation boss paranoid.

In a recent post, Samini noticing how far Stonebwoy and Kelvyn Boy had taken their feud, stepped in.

Samini, who has had a fair share of issues with Stonebwoy, advocated for order to be restored.

“Order will be restored at home…. Second generation will have to read the history a bit further to understand. But in the grand scheme of things, we chose to let whatever has been against us be for us henceforth. Humility alone cannot do it without patience. Allow the offended to heal and be careful not to allow entitlement to replace Loyalty.”
