The President’s Staffer and Former General Secretary of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) Madam Nana Yaa Jantuah, has touted her believe in Ghana’s Future.

She began by highlighting the CPP agenda of making Ghana great through leadership, patriotism, and national responsibility.

Her commentary traversed various themes, including the significance of CPP’s ideology, the challenges of public service, and the necessity of transforming Ghana’s socio-economic landscape.

Madam Jantuah underscored that the CPP is not merely a political party but a calling to serve Ghana selflessly. She emphasized the deep-rooted sense of patriotism that CPP members carry, stating; “CPP is not just a political party,  it is a calling. It is a calling to Ghana.”

She argued that CPP’s values transcend political ideology, fostering a sense of duty and commitment to the country.

According to her, the essence of CPP is etched in the hearts of many Ghanaians, including some leaders who may not overtly identify with the party.

To this effect, Madam Jantuah highlighted the importance of humility, tolerance, and respect in public office. She warned against the pitfalls of arrogance and the influence of sycophants within governmental structures. Reflecting on her 27 years in public service, she said;

“You go there not with arrogance. You go there not with intolerance, disrespect. The system sometimes would make you do some of these things, but you must remain grounded.”

She elaborated on the pressures ministers face, including the overwhelming demands from the public. Navigating these challenges, she said, requires experience, level-headedness, and a commitment to serve without succumbing to greed or selfishness. She advised; “You need to find a way to navigate through it and do it nicely.”

The Higher Calling to Make Ghana Great Again

Madam Jantuah passionately called for a renewed commitment to national development. She urged Ghanaians to adopt a business-like approach to governance, treating Ghana as a collective enterprise. She stated:

“There’s a higher calling of making Ghana great again, through working hard, not being selfish, and not being greedy.”

However, She lamented the plight of illegal Ghanaian immigrants abroad, emphasizing the need to create opportunities within Ghana to discourage emigration for menial jobs. She noted;

“I want to see a day when I’ll pass by the American embassy, the British High Commission, and see no queues so that our young people would not go do menial jobs.”

Madam Jantuah criticized the exploitation of Africa’s resources by foreign economies, stating;

“We have gold, cocoa, diamond, manganese, oil, everything. Yet, we let people go and become slaves. Why should any Ghanaian suffer such disgrace?”

She warned of the “landmines” that exist in public service, particularly in ministries, departments, and agencies. These, she explained, often manifest as financial incentives or privileges that can lead to corruption. She cautioned;

“The system where you work would encourage you that you can do this, you can do that and at the end of the day, they sell you out.”

Madam Jantuah urged ministers and public servants to remain vigilant and focused on their responsibilities. She further emphasized the need for asset declaration but also advised against equating wealth with corruption. She remarked;  “The fact that somebody has assets doesn’t mean the person is corrupt.”

In her final remarks, Madam Jantuah appealed to all leaders and public servants to remain circumspect and dedicated to their duties. She urged them to avoid distractions and prioritize Ghana’s progress. She concluded; “They should set their eyes on the ball and focus on resetting this nation.”

Madam Nana Yaa Jantuah’s reflections serve as a powerful reminder of the principles required to lead Ghana effectively.

Her emphasis on humility, patriotism, and vigilance against corruption is a clarion call for leaders to rise above personal interests and dedicate themselves to the greater good of the nation.
