Famous Nigerian actress, Funke Akindele has opened up about the type of men she loves.

The actress made this known while discussing her secrets to success and her passionate approach to love.

The divorced mother of two who described herself as a lover girl, said “I love intelligent men.” She also shared qualities that attracted her to a man.

“I’m a lover girl who loves seriously. Because I’m a bit of an extremist, I go the extra mile. I’m the type that can wake up and just buy my spouse a car.

“The green light for me is someone that pampers and checks on me genuinely. I love a positive guy and intelligent men.”

Reflecting on her personal journey, Funke Akindele admitted there was a time when she almost gave up on love.

Offering advice to others who may feel similarly disheartened, the ‘Everbody Loves Jenifa’ actress said one shouldn’t give up.

“I used to be like that. Don’t give up on anything in life but look at the brighter side of things. If you have given up on love, just take a chill pill and don’t force it. Don’t look for it; it will find you.”

Funke Akindele also disagreed with critics who claim the industry is losing its quality storytelling.

“I will never agree to that. We are creatives and we tell our stories from different angles. What is in my head is not in your head. There is no bad story; it is about how you execute it.

“Don’t forget, that is my economic power— the fact that I can tell my story how I want it. I am not tired of Nollywood stories; just tell your stories well.”

Funke Akindele

Speaking of the secret to her remarkable success in Nollywood, Akindele noted that it’s consistency.

“It is just consistency and the fact that you need to study your audience and tell relatable stories and never get tired of it. For you to be outstandingly successful, you need to put in the hard work and not just the smart work.”

The Nigerian actress had an interesting conversation with her adorable twins over a drawing one of them had created.

The little boy proudly showed his colorful sketch, made using their iPad. Funke, curiously asked him if he had drawn his father.

He quickly denied it but hesitated before admitting it was meant to be a mouse. Funke playfully disagreed with his answer.

The playful back-and-forth continued then Funke encouraged him to try again and draw their father.

After a few moments, the boy returned with a more abstract piece, claiming it was their dad. Though the drawing didn’t resemble a human face at all, Funke supported her son and cheered him on.

The boy then revealed that he had drawn a monkey, and both of them burst into laughter. Not stopping there, Funke asked her children to name of father, and they both shouted, Mr. Bello.
