The child star revealed his ideal performance venues in the future.

“I’d like to perform at the Ghana Music Award here in Ghana (TGMA), the Grammys, and the Oscars. Because I believe that very soon the name Fotocopy will become a household name, and that is why I believe that I’ll perform on a big stage like that.”

Fotocopy also expressed his excitement about being a young artist, intimating that “the excitement is when you google who is the youngest musician in Ghana and guess what, Google gets to tell you is Kaline Nana Kwaakye Fotocopy.”

He said he has a solid team that shoulders all the challenges that come with his job.

“As for the problems I don’t think I have one or any, because my team are going all out to put the name Fotocopy on the map so as for problems is a big no for me.

“They support me a lot on social media especially on TikTok. You find a bunch of them liking, following, commenting, sharing and it makes me feel that my team are doing tremendously well.”

With six songs to his credit, the young artist revealed that his favourite is ‘Friends Today, Enemies Tomorrow’, a song inspired by social media observations.

“Friends Today, Enemies Tomorrow, is basically a world anthem or a street anthem and I got the inspiration from social media because I realised that almost all the best friends I knew today they’re friends tomorrow they’re enemies and that is why I brought a song like this and I believe everyone relates to the song.

“These are things that happen in people’s lives, and that is the type of song I’m trying to bring out; things that happen in reality.”

In the meantime, the young artist has released a new song titled “Friends Today, Enemies Tomorrow.”

The eleven-year-old Ghanaian artist shared insights into his creative process.

When asked about how he gets inspiration for his compositions, he revealed that things he sees and the books he reads are very crucial to his music making.

“I get my imagination from the things I see and books I read, and I don’t write the songs. Because some of them, I sing in Twi and I’m not really good at writing Twi because in my school they won’t allow you to learn Twi there. We do Spanish, French, Dutch.

“It’s better I do it an audio, send it to my dad, then he’d call for a group meeting then we’ll help with arrangements, I go to the studio, record… my dad does everything. He helps with the writing of songs, he video-directs, he does everything.”

He also praised his dad’s approach to their collaborations indicating that he makes the song in a way he understand and makes him comfortable in his deliver.

Talking about freedom to express himself, Fotocopy responded, “I’m very, very free with my dad, so with stuff like that, I’m able to say ‘Oh dad, I think it’s not supposed to be this way’.”

“We share ideas together. My dad is the closest person I’ve been with. He’s the coolest dad, I’m telling you.”

Finally, the young artist spoke about how he balances his music career with his education.

“From Mondays to Fridays are my busy days; I don’t joke with my education. But on weekends I can do music as long as I want.”

With his dad’s support and guidance, the artist has found a harmonious balance between pursuing his passion for music and excelling in school.
