OmniBSIC Bank Sets the Pace with Record-Breaking Health Walk and Digital Banking Innovation

OmniBSIC Bank, Ghana’s fastest-growing financial services provider, has once again demonstrated its ambition for growth by successfully hosting the seventh edition of its quarterly health walk.

This event, which attracted over 3,000 participants, served as a powerful platform to strengthen brand engagement and officially activate the Bank’s latest digital banking innovation—its new mobile app.

Held at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, the 12.8-kilometre walk was more than just a wellness initiative; it symbolized the Bank’s commitment to both physical and financial discipline. Managing Director Daniel Asiedu emphasized the strong correlation between maintaining good health and achieving financial security.

“The discipline required to maintain one’s health is no different from the discipline needed to achieve financial security. At OmniBSIC Bank, we are committed to supporting both, ensuring that our customers have the right tools to build their future.”

Daniel Asiedu

OmniBSIC Bank took this opportunity to reinforce its refreshed tagline, ‘…Not Just Another Bank,’ by integrating customer engagement and brand activation with a strong emphasis on digital transformation. The event venue was extensively branded, reflecting the Bank’s focus on technology-driven banking solutions while maintaining a close connection with customers and the broader business community.

Strengthening Customer Engagement and SME Support

Beyond physical fitness, the health walk also served as a major business networking opportunity. The Bank provided exhibition booths for entrepreneurs attending the event, allowing them to showcase their products and services. This initiative saw the participation of over 100 exhibitors across various industries, including fast-moving consumer goods (FMCGs), food and beverages, automobiles, travel and tourism, construction, clothing and fashion, and beauty products.

By providing a platform for businesses to connect with new customers and increase brand visibility, OmniBSIC Bank reaffirmed its role as a key supporter of enterprise growth, particularly within the SME sector. “This initiative aligns with our broader goal of supporting business growth. We are not just a bank; we are a partner in Ghana’s economic development,” Mr. Asiedu explained.

Participants praised the Bank for its dedication to health and business development. A long-time participant, Tim Amenyo, expressed his admiration for the Bank’s consistency. “I have been walking with OmniBSIC Bank since they started, and I am truly proud of what they have achieved. I look forward to more growth and opportunities,” he said.

Social media influencer Sdkdele, who joined the walk and engaged his followers online, also applauded the Bank’s initiative. He emphasized the importance of exercise for both mental and physical well-being and encouraged regular participation. “We walked for more than 10 kilometres, and I feel really good. I will do this anytime with this bank. It is a good thing to exercise,” he stated.

Digital Banking Push

A key highlight of the event was the official activation of OmniBSIC Bank’s new mobile banking application. Designed to enhance customer convenience, the app comes with cutting-edge features, including biometric authentication, real-time alerts, and an intuitive interface that simplifies both personal and business banking. With this app, customers can seamlessly track expenses, conduct transactions, and manage their finances anytime, anywhere.

The Bank described the app as a crucial component of its strategy to enhance accessibility and efficiency in financial services.

“This is not just another mobile banking app; it represents a significant step in how we serve our customers. With this innovation, we are ensuring that banking with OmniBSIC Bank is more secure, efficient, and accessible.”

Daniel Asiedu

As Ghana’s financial sector continues to evolve with increasing competition from fintech firms and mobile money platforms, OmniBSIC Bank’s focus on digital banking is a strategic move to maintain relevance and expand its customer base. The decision to launch the app during a widely attended event was deliberate, ensuring maximum visibility for the Bank’s digital transformation efforts.

“By embedding the app’s launch within this widely attended event, we have created visibility for our digital transformation efforts while reinforcing our commitment to customer-centric banking.”

A Bank on the Rise

OmniBSIC Bank’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction comes at a time of strong financial performance. In 2024, the Bank recorded an impressive profit of GH¢314 million, doubling its earnings from the previous year. This growth was driven by increased operating income and a rise in customer deposits, reflecting growing confidence in the Bank’s services.

Industry recognition has also followed the Bank’s success. OmniBSIC Bank was named Bank of the Year at the Ghana Business Standard Awards 2024 and received the Best Corporate Bank, Ghana accolade at the Global Banking and Finance Awards 2024. These recognitions further solidify its position as a formidable player in Ghana’s banking industry.

With a network of 40 branches across the country, OmniBSIC Bank is well-positioned to compete effectively in the financial sector by blending traditional banking services with a strong digital presence. Mr. Asiedu reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to sustained growth.

“As we continue to implement our ‘…Not Just Another Bank’ strategy, OmniBSIC Bank will continue to sustain growth, deepen customer trust, and maintain momentum in this increasingly dynamic financial terrain.”

Daniel Asiedu

OmniBSIC Bank’s seventh health walk was more than just a corporate wellness event—it was a testament to the Bank’s unwavering commitment to customer engagement, business growth, and digital transformation.

By successfully integrating physical wellness with financial discipline, networking opportunities, and the launch of a game-changing mobile banking app, the Bank has reinforced its position as a forward-thinking financial institution.
