Nollywood actress and model, Nancy Isime, has expressed strong disapproval of Africans migrating through illegal means to Western countries for greener pastures.

Nancy Isime said she advocates and firmly believes in Africans “staying back at home” and achieving their dreams.

“I love acting, I love hosting, and I love travelling a lot like you said. Maybe not an advocate for real immigration, so to speak, I’m mostly an advocate for staying back at home as much as you want, but one thing I would say is I am a true believer that you can see the world, and you can see it the right way.”

She further called for an end to Africans migrating to the West through deserts and oceans, stating that such perception needs to be eroded.

Nancy Isime, who says she loves travelling, stressed that migrating to the West must be done through the right means as Africans are “kings and queens” and must exude such personality.

“We are kings and queens, and when we go to these places, we should be able to show that we are walking with our heads high and our visa and documents showing that we are there. When it’s time for us to leave, for those of us who get our visa, we leave before our time, and we go and come back, or we can just go live there and whatever you want to do, you can just do it the right way.
“It’s just enough, we (Africans) need to stop being known for coming into countries through the backyard way you know through killing, dying and desert, all of that, it is unnecessary, it is not the best.”

Nancy Isime on Casting Roles for Nude Scenes

The Nollywood actress and model shared her thoughts on actors and actresses playing roles for nude scenes.

Nancy Isime said casting roles for nude scenes is a matter of personal choice for actors.

She explained that creatives need not to abandon their values and morals because of the space they find themselves, urging them to consider these factors in choosing roles to play in movies.

“The beautiful thing about being creative is your unique experience, and everything has to be in it. Your nature, your moral background, your likes, your do’s and don’ts, as a human being, you have to come with that so when you enter into a career either as a photographer, videographer, or as a cameraman, whatever work you have to take that with you.”

Nancy Isime noted that several actors have been successful in their careers without acting nude scenes, just as others have also been successful despite acting nude scenes.

“You don’t have to abandon that because you work in a certain space. Some actors have never gone nude and have been so successful in their careers up until old age, and some actors have gone nude and still have been successful, and so it’s a personal choice.”

She further advised actors who are comfortable with taking on roles for nude scenes to go ahead and accept such roles, while those who would like to reject such roles for personal reasons should firmly take their stance.

“If you feel like it’s okay, I can bear it all for my craft. Go ahead and do it. But if you feel like you know that I’m a little too shy, maybe I have body discomfort, maybe I’m not confident about my body, maybe I don’t like how it looks, and I don’t want to show it to the world, that’s okay. So, I don’t think there’s a hook to it, just act how you want, and if you can’t handle it, allow somebody else to do it, so don’t bring half bread.”

When asked if she would accept such a role if it were to be a movie like ‘Game of Thrones’, she replied: “Maybe with the right atmosphere, the right directive, the right project, maybe for a right course, and if it is really important in telling the story and moving the story forward, I would not mind.”
